KHL got Pavelec paid big time. If he doesn't deliver this year, he'll be run out of town. Saw Winnipegs minor league goalie Eddy Pasquale here in St John's this year. He'll be ready for the show in a year, so Pavelec won't be safe for long.

Did he handle the forwards in MTL before he was named head coach? Because if so that could be an option, he's a very good coach, very underated and underappreciated in MTL because of all there dummy fans.

Very interesting. So now add another assistant coach to the offseason needs.

We Need to Get Tougher to Play Against
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to Bring Back The Bruise Bros's topic in General
I'd be really content with just a bottom 6 of: Bertuzzi-Helm-Cleary Prust-Abdelkader-Eaves Miller/Konopka(or someone like that as the 13th forward) -
Top Swiss-leaguer Brunner to sign with Wings, Babcock has big plans

With Nyquist coming up to the big leagues next season, we needed another young guy to step in as the #1 scorer down there. From what i've heard, this guy is it. Then after this season, if he excels, who knows.- 139 replies

With Stewie making his way back to San Jose, how ******* bad does the Thornton trade look now? Jumbo for Sturm and Primeau, yikes. And yet, Boston won the cup before San Jose did Weird thing this hockey, you just never know.

If the bottom 6 next season looks like this: Bertuzzi-Helm-Cleary Prust-Abdelkader-Eaves I'll be a happy man, and for s***s and giggles lets get Colton Orr as a 13th forward I don't feel like arguing about this subject much, because holy hell have we been down this road before. But it's quite clear that the Wings bottom 6 needs a bit of a revamping when the most physical forward consistently in the playoffs was Cleary on one frickin leg. After Helm went down we didn't have a forecheck or a physical presence, that's no good. Of course we need some more goals, and Parise is exactly the type of guy we need, but there are more areas that need to be fixed on the Wings. -
In that scenario, according to the Ottawa sun, flip them a draft pick as well and get Zach Smith. Tough players that can PK and score a bit don't come around alot, and obviously Foligno would be a great fit with his speed and aggressiveness.

2012 SCF : Los Angeles Kings vs. New Jersey Devils
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Screw the ratings. The Finals haven't exactly been the greatest hockey ever but LA play the game the right way, and deserve to win the Cup tonight. Gonna be nice to see Richards, Carter and Penner shove it in all the analysts faces who thought they were drunk cancers, or overweight wastes of skin in Penner's case. Plus as much as I like Brodeur, I want Parise to leave the Finals with a bad taste in his mouth to get him out of Jersey and into the Winged Wheel come July 1st. -
If hell freezes over and we miss out on Suter, Garrison would be nice. Canadian, Lidstrom like bomb from the point and grows a good beard so he'd fit in on the Wings
-
Make it Abby instead of Helm and then yes, that would be a fantastic deal for us. But I really don't think Kenny is going to make a trade unless he misses out on one of or both of Suter and Parise.

Nick Lidstrom retires after 20 seasons

Gonna miss seeing #5 out there, it's been a good run. Good luck in retirement Nick , can't wait to see your number go into the rafters. As for now, time for the next great Red Wings era to begin. -

Twitter is flooded now, seems as though it's as official as we'll get until it comes out of Nicks mouth tomorrow. Congrats on a fantastic career, the 2nd best defenseman to ever play the game wore #5, and he wore the Winged Wheel and I'll never forget it -

Makes me sick to my stomach to think if Nick goes out tommorow, it'll be just like Yzerman. After a 1st round exit, heartbreaking. Sure will be weird without #5 next year if that's the case, god bless Nick and I really hope it's not goodbye yet. -
Nothing against Rinne, but he's a goalie. Gotta be a player on NHL, and Giroux was the driving force in the Penguins being knocked out so early in the playoffs

Marty has slain Cinderella before in the 03 Ducks, but the Kings are a much better team then those Ducks. I think Kings in 6, but I expect hard fought, physical, close games in all 6. -
Pure gold.

#8 Los Angeles Kings vs. #3 Phoenix Coyotes
Detroit # 1 Fan replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Penner is one of the biggest beauties in the league, if only he could play the way he is in the postseason in the regular season, because he'd be a great FA acquisition -
No, but I think it'd be better for him to play opposite Nick then Quincey or White.
-
Nice to dream, would be sick if we landed em both though. Ideally for me: Trade Ericsson+Miller to Buffalo for a 2nd, with Suter coming in no real need for Big E anymore. Sign Parise, Suter and Prust. Parise-Datsyuk-Nyquist Filppula-Zetterberg-Franzen Bertuzzi-Helm-Cleary Prust-Abdelkader-Eaves Emmerton Lidstrom-Smith Suter-Kronwall White-Quincey Kindl Howard McDonald f*** with that, NHL.

Paul Holmgren must be feeling pretty stupid today. Carter and Richards have proved in the playoffs there still dynamic players, and good ole Lazy Pancakes himself has turned it around too when no one would have thought it possible. Good for the boys, and good for LA. If it's the Rangers that advance to the Finals I hope LA crush them, I cannot stand Torts -

Even though I predicted them to win each series, it's unreal how good the Kings have been so far. 1 loss in the playoffs in the 3rd round? Holy that is something else. -
I think the Oil Kings will win the Memorial Cup, even though I've moved out east and haven't been able to see them. They were so bad the last few years they've stockpiled top talent. I'd rather see London win though.

The Caps would be a better team with Hunters system, then they would Ovies ego. Oh well who cares about the Caps anyways, back to 30+ minutes a game for the "great" eight.
