Trade Legwand to Detroit for Eaves, Jarnkrok + cond 3rd/2nd
MabusIncarnate replied to gcom007's topic in General
Legwand this season 40 points Cleary this season 8 points Bertuzzi this season 13 points Weiss this season 4 points Eaves this season 5 points I fail to see the comparison or the point entirely. So the final verdict is "He's a scrub because i've seen him play and I say so"? -

You need to start posting some kind of factual reply instead of just an ongoing rant that "He's garbage, He's a scrub" without any kind of speck of argument to back up your opinion. It's been pages of these replies now. He's a leader, he's consistent, and even on a below average team he's put together a respectable career. He fills out a center position that we drastically need right now. I'd love to hear all of these negatives that give you such a foul opinion of the guy. -

Not saying he's going to have a surge of offense, but he is a former 1st round 2nd overall pick that has played for a not so great Predators team. Consider his point totals over the years with the offense he has around him. Playing on line with who, Craig Smith and Gabriel Bourque this year and still managing 40 points? I honestly like his chances of putting up mildly better numbers here with guys like Nyquist and Franzen on his line and eventually one of two world class players. If you consider the offensive weapons Nashville has had over the years, it's tough to really name one outside of Weber. I hope he surprises people and strings together some good offensive numbers so people can relax and see how much Legwand can actually contribute here. -

Consider the fact that he would have to say "I WANT to play for Nashville". Really, no one wants that. -

I think people are a bit quick to stomp on the panic button here. What a lot of you aren't considering is Jarnkrok's verbal desire to return to Europe and play hockey over there. If that is the case down the line, Eaves and a 3rd for Legwand isn't bad, especially if Legwand re-signs here. Look at how many we have injured and Eaves still barely makes the line-up. We have a lot of players that can fill in his role. A 3rd might equate to a bottom 6 forward in 5-6 years, the rarity of getting a gem in the 3rd doesn't outweigh the risk. A lot of this decision was based around Jarnkrok potentially pulling a Kovalchuk and bailing out of the NHL system. If that happens, a lot of you are gonna feel better about this deal. I'm assuming management knows more about this scenario than we do. Take a deep breath, this isn't the end of the world. -

This trade went from not too bad to awful with the announcement of the prospect involved. Ferraro would have made sense, you know, a guy we were never going to use anyway? -

Eaves, Jarnkrok, and a 3rd probably could have gotten Vanek if Jarnkrok is indeed the prospect involved here... -
How much value do you guys put on Eaves?! Even with all these injuries he barely cracks the lineup.
-
Good luck in Nashville Eaves, probably will get more playing time there. Curious to see who the prospect is but I like the deal as it sits.

He's 33, has 40 points on the season which puts him 2nd overall on Detroit in totals behind Zetterberg. Not sure where the unfounded anger about this move is all about. I don't see Andersson finishing 40 points total by the end of the season.

Let's refrain from posting stuff like "It's official, we did nothing this deadline" as deals are apparently still coming in. Nothing is "official" until our GM comes out and flat out says "We're done". Deals are obviously still going on here, no need to dish out false information.
-
Legwand.. at least it's something.
-
No offense intended but considering Legwand is a center and you said we don't need him that is assuming in your opinion our center situation right now with injuries is better off than bringing in Legwand. Right now our top line center is Andersson, i'm not sure what else "We don't need Legwand" points to except you don't feel like upgrading Andersson is necessary and therefore he's a better option over Legwand. If you meant differently then please reiterate, that's just how I perceived that comment.

I say again, 3:00 doesn't mean completely finished. We can still have trade announcements for the next 2-3 hours. Don't jump ship quite yet but i'd put your water wings on just in case..
-
You think Andersson is a better top line center over 40 point Legwand? Let's be realistic here..
-
Nope e5

If Eklund is reporting it anything is possible.. I say his chances of landing on Minnesota are officially worse.
-
TSN showing Schultz for a 5th on my end, I would have taken him at that price just because.
-
Sources please guys, random stuff like "Vanek to Pitt" isn't stating fact, rumor, speculation, etc. Thanks. Edit: Harold got me, refer to his bold statement above.

I'm getting tired of being amped up or trade deadline day and the Wings doing absolutely nothing. Don't let me down again today Kenny..
-
Apparently as long as something is submitted before 3 pm deals can be announced after, so it's not necessarily 3 pm or nothing. More can come out as the day goes on beyond the deadline time.
-
Isn't Legwand the leading scorer on Nashville? Nah we couldn't use a guy like that at all.

Hardly The person below me has an abnormally high tolerance level for stress.

I have no words.
