MULE!!!

Closing in on puck drop, just about an hour away. Looking forward to the game tonight, and a lot of production out of our offseason acquisitions. Wings take it 5-2, Weiss has a 3 point night and Alf pots 2 goals. GO WINGS GO!!

Close.. Blackhawks, Penguins, Canucks, Ducks in that order for me. The person below me can differentiate the taste of fresh and concentrate orange juice.

State your unpopular opinion *Mod Warning Post #'s 200 & 219*

I thought the newest Superman movie, "Man of Steel" was excellent. I am clueless why it got so much hate. With that said, I dislike DC comics entirely, I am a pretty strict Marvel fan. -
Do Quincey and Smith have a future in Detroit?
MabusIncarnate replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
Smith needs more time to develop, he's still young and green. Look at Adam Larsson in New Jersey, pretty much the same scenario. He's a very young top Defensive prospect that has been pretty awful for the Devils so far. It's nothing a few healthy scratches and a few years of development won't fix over time. Young prospects aren't always going to join this team and be amazing from the start, it's a major transition to adjust to the NHL level from where they came from. Smith will be around for a while, and down the road we'll be happy he's here i'm sure. I don't think Quincey has been as terrible as most think he has but it wouldn't hurt my feelings much if he moved on or was replaced. -
Well as far as the "big name" game titles go, I went with Bioshock Infinite, GTA V, Diablo 3, and NHL 14 this year. For me personally, the best game I played that had been released in 2013 was Bioshock Infinite, they strayed so far from the first two games, created a new world, new characters, and it was stunning. Everything about it had me sucked in until the mind twisting conclusion that tied the series together beautifully. Now recently with the "Burial At Sea" DLC story addition, it's easily been my favorite game and experience this year. GTA V was great, it really was, but with the online problems plaguing the game along with cheaters, glitchers, and these randoms online who's only intention is to kill you at every turn opposed to doing anything constructive ruined a lot of the experience. The campaign was one of the better ones in the GTA series, and that aspect of it was very well done. DIablo 3 was good but difficult as a single player experience. It's meant to be played online cooperatively, and by the time I picked it up most of my friends had moved onto other games. It's still arguably the best dungeon crawler experience on Xbox and it translated well, if not better from PC. NHL 14... it's a mess. It feels like the last game of this generation, half-assed, and overblown. The hitting is ridiculously overpowered, and the injury frequency in game modes like GM Connected is irritating. On top of that, the same old "backhand forehand" and "Short side corner wrister" glitch shots still work incredibly well, meaning half of the online community abuses them to the point of complete annoyance. To close out 2013, a pretty mild year for gaming, for me it's Bioshock Infinite and GTA V in close 2nd. If you only buy one game this year, make it one of these two depending on your taste in games.

Fable 3 Free, Two Free Games Per Month
MabusIncarnate replied to MabusIncarnate's topic in Water Cooler
Free from now until December 15th is the original Gears of War. December 16th until the end of the month will be the arcade title "Shoot Many Robots". Also free with no expiration date is Ascend: Hand of Kul on the arcade. I don't believe this is Gold Exclusive either. World of Tanks should be emerging soon as the next free to play game as well. -
injured Zetterberg out at least 2 weeks with herniated disc
MabusIncarnate replied to 13dangledangle's topic in General
This is going to be a big test on our depth and if Weiss was worth the contract we gave him. I agree with what some have said, pull Weiss back up to one of the top 2 lines and give him an opportunity to get his game going and produce in the absence of our top two offensive weapons. Franzen has been on his game, Alfredsson has been producing, and if Weiss plays the way we need him to we still can string together some wins and get through this until Pav and Zett return. I'm not too concerned but we'll see how the next few games unfold. -
I have regretfully so, in my early teenage years I was a little jerk. Toilet papered trees on Halloween also. The person below me made multiple visits to the Principals office when they were in school.

I think it also shows a small amount of respect on behalf of Avery to sit down after Hull said this and shut his yap. I was not a fan of Avery in the slightest, he's on my list of guys like Barnaby that I just wanted to see knock off the antics and play the game. Regardless, he was a lucky guy to be on that team during that time and be surrounded by such epicness. Good read, thanks for posting it.

Kronwall is currently my favorite Red Wing defender and favorite NHL defender. I know he'll rediscover his Kronwalling ways and get us excited again when he crushes an opponent with a clean, bone breaking hit. Hes a game changer, a difference maker, and I appreciate Kronwall for all hes worth to this team. He's made the absence of Lidstrom a lot less painful. Thanks Kronwall for everything you do.

Yes, I stayed in one here a couple nights before I moved here. The person below me has a clean driving record.

I respect the older game of hockey, the bench clearing brawls, the brutal rematches after a player got previously hurt, but the modern NHL has taken a leap in the other direction from that. I like that you brought up Chris Neil here, because honestly he's one of the remaining true goons left in hockey. He hits hard, he fights a lot, and there's a chance of being down Abby or Kronwall right now if either attempted some kind of retaliation on Cowen. You don't want to get him started, last thing this team needs is more injuries and Neil can definitely inadvertently cause them. The Wings played smart hockey today and got them back on the scoreboard. Alf potted an empty netter at the end to seal the deal and anything other than being happy with the result of this game is a low expectation for this era of the NHL.

GDT 12/1 GDT: Red Wings 4 at Senators 2, Alfredsson scores ENG
MabusIncarnate replied to RedWang's topic in General
Excellent game, and we have a solid winning streak developing here. I'm glad that this team is putting up some offense in Pavs absence and both goaltenders seem to be on top of their game. Let's keep it up at home against Philly on Wednesday, GO WINGS!! -

I have a template for this that i've been working on and would like to have a chance to post it up on Friday, December 6th for the game against the Devils, If it's okay with Hockeytown and Flashy and they don't have anything previously planned for this game. EDIT: I also saw Mikey (Hockeytown001) mention in chat that he had Wednesday's GDT covered this week against the Flyers.

Not me personally, I used to have a pet bird so feathers aren't of much concern to me. The person below me has encountered a dangerous animal in the wild.

Zetterberg to captain the 2014 swedish olympic team?
MabusIncarnate replied to kickazz's topic in General
All Wings fan favoritism aside, Zetterberg is the best man for the job. -
I have too many tools, I like to crack stuff open and fix it myself, especially electronics. Normally about a 75% success rate, the other times I make it worse. The person below me is sick of turkey and stuffing leftovers.

This was the first thing that came to mind when reading this... Buffalo is turning into the new Calgary, need to rebuild, get value where value can be had and start fresh in a new direction.
-
I like the enthusiasm! Another big win for our boys today, strung together two strong offensive games and getting some W's. Lets keep it up Wings.

Too much leftover, been sharing with the dog. The person below me will go hunting/fishing sometime before summer.

I personally wouldn't have been so quick to give up on him and dump him on the 4th line. He is a relatively skilled player, had some injury issues along the way. New team, new linemates, new coach, I don't know if 25 games give or take is enough for him to settle and play at his peak game before considering him a non-producing 4th liner. Slumps happen, he could be way past his prime, but i'd be willing to give him more time on the 2nd line especially while Pav is down and out. There is another ongoing Weiss thread going on in the link below that this conversation might be better suited to continue in if this one becomes merged. http://www.letsgowings.com/forums/topic/75433-stephen-weiss/
