No discredit to him in the slightest but Kunitz has 50 points on a line with Crosby all season.. A lot of credit due to Mr. Stamkos but still an incredible accomplishment for St. Louis.

The Race for Eight: Blue Jackets, Stars, Wings
MabusIncarnate replied to bardownginos's topic in General
The Red Wings WILL... play 3 more games this regular season. That's about the only thing that should be taken as a certainty. I do appreciate the positive vibes the OP is attempting to toss out, I really do, but expect this thread to go nuclear should it not happen. -
Yeah because Franzen has such a history of not showing up for playoffs...
-
Keep our playoff hopes alive, please work something in our favor tonight hockey gods! For once this season, let things go right for the Wings.
-
Past his prime, not producing like he should be on a line with Parise and getting PP time. If this were the regular season he'd probably be on pace for about a 45 point season, and that's not exactly what we need in a top 6 forward. Pass on Heatley.

I'd like to see the same percentages from Crosby/Malkin or Toews/Kane before saying this is a depth problem. Something to compare it to against the highest tier teams in the league.

I hate the shootout personally, I think it was brought in as a gimmick to attract more fans but isn't a proper way to decide the outcome of the game. If they ever introduce it to the playoffs and discontinue sudden death overtime it may be enough to turn me away completely. I didn't mind ties as much as I mind a team being able to gain an extra point for winning a mini all-star event at the end of the game. I also miss the fierce rivalries, we may never see anything like Colorado/Detroit in the 90's ever again. I hate the fact that they are in a continuous battle to push fighting out of the sport, and yes as much as I dislike hits to the head and concussions, I think a lot of players are afraid to lay out heavy hits anymore which takes away from the physical aspect of the game. And my god do I miss Yzerman and the days of watching him play. I try not to live in the past but i'm not sure we will see another generation of hockey like it used to be.

WIN!! Wings win 5-2 in a lopsided battle in an epic time machine induced reunion. Abdelkader hat trick Hudler 1 goal 1 assist Ciccarelli 1 goal Ysebaert 2 assists Cheveldae 28 saves 1 assist GO WINGS!!!!!!!!!

This is nonsense, no way all of these players are healthy and ready to play at the start of next season. I'd like to see Tatar and Andersson on the roster over Eaves and probably over Helm who may or may not be healthy. Other than that sit back, relax, and watch the fireworks fly on LGW. EDIT: This is assuming Helm won't be ready to go, not saying replace Helm in the lineup completely with Tatar or Andersson.. before the lashing starts let me clarify that.

More comparing the common frequency of a player having a good first game on a new team. It's one game, although the "suck it" was a really classy way of backing up your point, a "told you so" thread really isn't valid yet especially considering there was no real indication that we were pursuing Clowe at all and well, "seriously man", it's one game. If Clowe turns into a 3 point per game player on the Rangers next season and puts up a 246 point season then this entire thread makes so much more sense.

Or 2 goals 1 assist. At least get the stats right before posting something irrelevant. Even Cory Cross scored a goal his first game as a Red Wing. I'm sure they will enjoy his services taking bad penalties and putting them on the PK more frequently also, because that's a big benefit that comes with Ryan Clowe.

Shocking, Wings aren't active as trade deadline expires
MabusIncarnate replied to Hutts11's topic in General
Alright, putting aside that I made the point of saying "Long Term" in the post I made, he was an excellent signing unless theres a rare instance that his defensively brilliant game that is currently well above the level it should be for his age somehow becomes lost in the NHL transition and he completely forgets how to play hockey he WILL be an excellent signing? Does that work? Nowhere did I say he would come in and be NHL ready this season, but as a free agent signing for the long term potential that cost us nothing, I consider that pretty smart opposed to overpaying at the deadline for someone like Bouwmeester. -

Oh yeah my mistake.. but still. Jesusberg made a pretty good point in booster chat also. DeKeyser was an excellent signing and didn't cost us any assets, if he sticks around he will be a long term defensive key for this team. So we move out Huskins for a 7th pick and sign DeKeyser off of free agency, there's our deadline moves. I'm fine with that. -

No.. Matt changed my name I just asked him to Another good point here, we traded Huskins for a 4th pick.. how can we not call that a success?! -

I don't know why people seem to keep forgetting this key point I bolded. As it sits we are in the playoffs, what's the problem here? Why are we in such a catastrophic scenario that we need to make an enormous move on deadline day? No reason to make a trade just to make a trade, these aren't the days of stacking with no concern of a spending cap. Sure it's fun and exciting to bring in a big name player at the deadline but why force it and damage our future if the deal doesn't make sense? -
I think the one you mentioned has probably been my favorite so far, it's exactly what came to mind before I continued reading. It was in that room with all the old sewing machines when the tear was open and fortunate son was playing, to later on have that woman sitting up high singing it. I stood there for nearly two minutes just watching her sing because it was a really powerful moment. Also in the basement of the bar at Shantytown when you pick up the guitar and sit down to start playing as Elizabeth starts singing and gives an apple to the child hiding under the staircase. It's those moments that really stick with you and helps this game stand out over many others. I also really liked the entire rescue sequence when initially getting Elizabeth from the fallen angel tower, viewing her from room to room down to the songbird tearing away at the tower as you are making your escape right down to the moment where you are under water and the bird has it's head under the water staring at you. It was really intense. I haven't completed the game yet but when I do I plan on going through again on 1999 mode.

What a brilliant game all around, it's a lock for Game of the Year awards without any doubt. Everything about it, all the details big and small, the environment, the atmosphere, the character development, the story, it's completely gripping, entirely unique and refreshing. It's rare that I look forward to replaying a game as soon as i'm finished with it but I intend to immediately after I finish. It's been worth the wait, lives up to the hype and doesn't fail to "wow" on multiple occasions throughout. Easily among my top 5 favorite games of this generation and a leader on my all-time list. Irrational games and 2k outdid themselves this time.

Tortorella saw Avery for what he was, pushed him out of the lineup constantly and ultimately treated him like a non-NHL caliber player, not shocked at all that Avery has sour feelings honestly, regardless if the comments are true or not. Something is going wrong in New York, they have a skilled team that right now is struggling to hang onto a low seed playoff spot.

A couple of days ago yes, but it's been warm enough lately to melt it. The person below me is having trouble remembering something.

Sherlock - PBS's Masterpiece Mystery!

Awesome news, thanks for the info. Very excited for the 3rd season and also glad to hear there will be a 4th also. -
I'm a HUGE fan of the series.. loved the first two and i'm about 4-5 hours into Infinite by now. It's truly a marvel of a game so far, a great story and plenty of "wow" moments. Not going to spread out any spoilers until other get time to dive into the game deeper, but i'm travelling with Elizabeth at this point and really enjoying the experience so far. Little things I am noticing really set this apart from the first two, environment aside. Only being able to carry two weapons is different, along with being able to swap with dropped weapons from dead enemies. The side missions are a nice touch also, with the introduction of needing X amount of lock picks to access certain areas. Really excited about this game so far, and I hope more of the gamers on this site are getting into it and want to spark up more discussion. I'll be checking back here as I progress further.

it's funny because it's true. Let's keep expectations realistic guys even if he does wind up signing here, the guy has 0 NHL experience and most likely isn't going to be very impactful from the get go.

Torchlight is awesome, enjoy it. I just picked up Bioshock Infinite, it's farking incredible. I'm a big fan of the Bioshock games, this one is so much different from the previous two but I still love it. There's enough Bioshockness left in it that it's not too different but unique enough to stand alone as it's own title. Very awesome, highly recommended.

Semin re-signs with Carolina: 5 years, $35 million ($7M/yr)
MabusIncarnate replied to DatsyukianDekes's topic in General
O-ver Ra-ted clap clap clapclapclap. So glad we opted out of attempting to get Semin, no way i'd be happy signing this slug to 7 mil per season for the production he puts out. -
Red Wings lead NHL in man-games lost to injury
MabusIncarnate replied to haroldsnepsts's topic in General
I'm not surprised at all, and we've still managed to succeed as a team this season and make a push for the playoffs. Pretty huge plus imo.. we might even get a few guys back fresh for the playoffs, an advantage a lot of teams won't have.
