Where's the thread making bets on how long he stay's healthy? I wanna win a Wings reusable grocery bag and a tee shirt. Seriously though, I know it's a very very far long shot but I hope he stays healthy for the remainder of the season and this surgery helps him long term. I hate to see any hockey player plagued with an ongoing injury problem and have their careers this far damaged.

I hate the entire "On Pace" argument when it comes to stuff like this.. we could go on a 10 game tear and shoot up the standings, we could go on a losing streak. Depends on who we are playing, how their goalie is playing, how much the opposing team is scoring and what kind of game Howard is bringing to the ice. Point being who the hell knows where we are going to sit once playoffs start, i'm in favor of just watching how the games unfold instead of picking apart useless stats and predicting our future. Fact: anything can happen in the remainder of the season. That's all we know.

Another tick in the brilliant career of Marty Brodeur. Prob my all time favorite goalie and easily in the top 3 of greatest tenders of all time. Congrats Marty.

Last I heard they are filming season 3 right now, it is set to come out Fall of this year. It will consist of 3 additional episodes, considering the length of the episodes, this was kind of to be expected. I'm looking forward to seeing more. There is a lack of recent information about it, assuming it's because Watson was filming for The Hobbit but I haven't heard otherwise that it isn't still on the way.

It's Eklund so I think that means we are safe from this ever happening. Markov isn't terribly old and I like him as a player but I don't think he's what we need.

Yeah it really is going to come down to the FA class, if it's slim on defenders he will collect more money overall. As Jusek mentioned above, he's always in the upper ranks for defensemen in hitting and blocked shots, in the company of guys like Dan Girardi and Brooks Orpik.

I love this guy, I mentioned it in another thread around here. He's a gritty defensive defensemen, isn't afraid to sacrifice his body to block shots and lay out some heavy hits. I'm completely in favor of this one.

I love how people continue to rip on Sammy as a bad decision when he's been injured all year and hasn't had any kind of opportunity to play. Not one person here can tell me they wouldn't rather have Sammy on Datsyuk's wing right about now opposed to Abby or Cleary. I'd take Smid here in a heartbeat, the guy is a force and shot blocking machine. We need more D guys like that, we have enough puck moving defensemen.

Going to be a very strange and unusual transition. The long and rich history of the Wings being in the West, the past rivalries, a lot of the history halts into a new era. Who will be our new rivals? How will we fare in an entirely new conference? This is a rare experience for sports fans and i'm for one quite excited about it and what the future may hold for us. No more Blackhawks, Predators, Avalanche, Sharks, but now we step in with the likes of the Bruins, Flyers, Rangers, and Devils. Not only does it open up our schedule to an entirely new set of games, but opens the road for more future aquisitions with teams in the West that used to be in our conference where we may not have dealt with before (if we ever make a trade again). This has been the right move for a long time and i'm glad to see it finally coming to light. Here's to many successful years for the Wings, and many fights between Tootoo and Neil, Ott, Marchand, Hartnell, etc.

I'd love Byfuglien here.. one of my favorite NHL players. With that said, I take anything Eklund says with a grain of salt and unfortunately if he's the only one reporting this i'd just write it off as pure speculation at this point. Don't get me wrong, i'd take this guy here in a second, but i'd like to see more guys reporting it before I get any kind of hopes up.

I wouldn't mind Stafford...................... I think he would be a good fit here.................. underrated player that can help out our scoring........................
