This thread may be useful to you, as it was a similar experience with another member of ours last month.

Keep Nyquist and Ott, drop Jurco and Svechnikov and i'll back that. At least Nyquist Is noticeable out there right now, getting chances and creating opportunities. To me, it's looking like he's trying to score, playing with some energy. Ott is underrated defensively and on the PK, and he's the only one out there keeping guys from taking runs at our players. He plays with passion, regardless of skill, he drops the gloves to change momentum and I always notice him make one strong play each night for his minimal ice time. And let's be honest, in a lot of these miserable games, he provides a spark and brings entertainment to the game which I like as a fan.

Great game, Coreau was flat out magnificent. AA was brilliant. Keep these kids on the damn team.

I don't see how a coach can possibly watch a kid like AA play night in and night out and not want him on your team full-time. I am entirely baffled.

I hate the term "Tanking", I don't think it's very realistic, I don't think players would ever be encouraged to slack off and not play to their highest level to secure a lower spot in the rankings. With that said, I think it's time to really get a strong look at what we have in Grand Rapids, call up a few names they didn't even consider at the beginning of the season. Give Bert Jr. some more NHL experience, and discover who has potential value, who is a career AHL player, and see what are pieces are and are capable of at an NHL level. Give guys like Ott a couple games off, and focus on the future. AA and Sproul should never be a healthy scratch again for the remainder of the season. Z is having ongoing back problems, get him out of the top 6 and cut his minutes. Let's make the top 6 Larkin, AA, Mantha, Nyquist, Tatar, and Nielsen and keep them up there. Develop them together, generate some chemistry and determine overall value. That should be the core that is focused on, get Nyquist and Tatar going and create some trade value. Keep Nielsen around, he's signed, he's a veteran, and he's a playmaker that can get players scoring goals. Sacrifice a few more wins constructively by exploring the youth, getting our future maximum ice time and exposure, and start building toward the future instead of dwelling on making the playoffs, giving guys who only have a year or two left in the tank top minutes, and focus on the rebuild. We can get a better draft pick, respectfully send away the streak and help the upcoming seasons more by aiming more toward the important factors of creating a successful team.

Loving the originality of your GDTs Nerve, the silly polls, the shout-outs to the LGW Member's birthdays, it all has a lot of personality and makes me smile. In a dismal year, you bring these forums a bright light and great humor. Thank you! I'll be awake for this one, as painful as it may turn out. LGW, Ott with a pair of PP goals, Sheahan and Jensen with the other two, and a 4-3 OT win (with Mrazek's obligatory 3 goals against).

Well they made a game of it to say the least, it was exciting and fun to watch. Nothing negative coming from me, great outdoor game and a thrilling finish.
