I'd be willing to bet that the Wings will not sign an enforcer this offseason AND that they will fare just as well in the east, if not better, as they did in the west.
-
The Wings are the last team to win back to back cups. I don't want that to end this year.
-
Don't worry, Holland would never trade a good defenseman just because we have too many. Instead he'll just put them on waivers, or let them walk via free agency.

Concerned - we might not make it in to the playoffs

I can personally guarantee that Dallas will lose tonight against St Louis. My fantasy opponent this week has Brian Elliot and I desperately need for him to get shelled and lose the game. Therefore, he won't -

We sure could use some Hudler right about now....

I bet Holland panics and overpays Quincey. Lame...

Throw everything we have at Phoenix to get Yandle, sign Semin and Doan to 1 year deals, overpay Weber next year.

I hope they get hit with tampering charges for that little stunt they pulled. What a crock of s*** -
Still no decision from Suter. Speculation abounds.

If you think Garrison is going to sign anywhere for under a million dollars, you're on supercrack!

The Grass Is Always Greener - Johan Franzen
Bannedforlife replied to InKennyWeTrust's topic in General
I think nothing will help Franzen more than acquiring an elite-level scorer to play on the first line. Take the pressure off of him to be "the guy" and he should do much better. And if that doesnt help, trade his lazy ass. -
Kovalchuk - Datsyuk - Semin

If we fail to reload with top UFAs we should?
Bannedforlife replied to frankgrimes's topic in General
I love how in the first paragraph you've convinced yourself that someone will sign him to an offer sheet that will cost them 2 or 3 draft pciks, and then in the second paragraph you describe him as a #4/#5 defender at best and that he finished the season by playing like "hot garbage". You're so adorable... I will guarantee you cash money that we will receive no draft pick compensation for Quincey, and that the only way he does not play for Detroit next year is if either Holland does not submit a qualifying offer, or he walks away from the arbitration award. -
Why isn't the Wild in hot water for their owner's comments?
Bannedforlife replied to Majsheppard's topic in General
I might be upset if I thought the Wild had any chance whatsoever to sign him. Or any top free agents for that matter... -
I dont think so. Stuart is a proven veteran with a Stanley Cup ring. Schultz is a highly touted, but unproven prospect. It seems even to me. I think it's more likely that Holland isn't interested in Schultz.
-
I wouldnt be upset at all. At least I would know for certain that Holland did everything in his power to make it happen. Also, the only reason that the most highly coveted UFA defenceman could be had for only a 2nd is because of the uncertainty. If Poile did a sign and trade, he would receive a 1st, 2nd, roster player and prospects. Finally, if we did get Suter for a 2nd and it doesnt work out, whats to stop Holland from trading his rights to somebody else for their 2nd?
-
Minnesota Wild @ 75/1 lol I guess they didnt take their prospect pool into account!
-
Ummmm, because that will show that Holland is being as aggressive as humanly possible to make this team competitive. Wont you be furious if it comes out that suter told poile that the only teams on his list are the flyers and the red wings, and that Holland had the opportunity to acquire his rights for a 2nd but thought that the 'price was too high,' and philly makes the move instead and subsequently signs suter? I think lgw would probably implode.
-
Uhhh, yea. The rights to Stuart for the rights to schultz. Duh...
-
I don't understand why we couldn't swing Stuart for schultz. That seemed like a fair deal.

I know its fun to imagine a team full of superstars, but can you imagine the egos in that dressing room? -

I bet that team would win a bunch of President's trophies. -
I never understood this rumor. Why would a team trade their captain 2 months before the playoffs?
