I think Gus is best on the third line. This season, he seems to produce best there and doesn't do as much in the top 6. He does seem to have chemistry with Z though Cole or Abby should be with datsyuk IMO. I've liked Tatar with Dats as well. If Cole and Abby are both with Z, its fun to see Pulks up on the top line but I'm sure it will be Helm.

Yeah I've thought about this earlier as well. I don't think Datsyuk would have been able to keep up a PPG for a whole season though.

Yeah I like him, hes better offensively then I thought he would be. He fits in well and fills a hole for sure His only knock is hes not great in his own zone, but I wouldn't say to the point where hes a liability. Definitely not a PKer though haha

He should get Tatar money + contract Tatar has been much better than nyquist and IMO Ive always felt like he would be, but Nyquist's ceiling is probably higher. Gus doesn't seem capable of playing against top opposition right now

Our team is young and feeling the effects of a full NHL season for the first time. I think the team is just drained right now, which is probably good considering playoffs are coming in about a month

Holmstrom was a monster on the boards, Helm isnt. Datsyuk and whoever else would just do their thing and give Homer a tap in. Helm misses those all the time

Yeah but that was 6 years ago, Datsyuk was also in his prime. He also got to play better matchups because other teams had to defend all of our top 9 There have been countless times this season where Dats has made an unbelievable play and Helm fails to finish. Sure, hes getting points, but so has any other line thats played with dats other then cleary/abby. There is no argument that Helm is not a finisher. I honestly question he has NHL hands. He scores the ugly goals which is great for Datsyuk's style of play, just like Holmstrom was. The thing with Holmstrom is he seemed to finish on almost every chance he ever got, it was crazy.

I see the point your trying to make and it does have basis But our 08/09 teams were twice as good as the one we have now. We also had Lidstrom/Raffi, Kronwall on the second pairing, and Ericsson as a sixth defenceman. That year our PP was absolutely lethal. Having a legit 1st,2nd,3rd,4th line opened up Datsyuk and Zetterberg tremendously. All of our lines could score.

Ehhh, I agree with you. Maybe not Pulkinnen, but if Helm had scoring ability Dats would probably have 15 more assists this year I'm still confused as to why Abby and Cole are playing with Z. One of them should be with Dats

Yeah, I hope so haha Im actually on board with a Kronwall - Smith pairing. Have wanted it for awhile. Ericsson should be nowhere near the top 4. Im not exactly a Smith fan but he needs offensive situations in order to be at his best

You want to take Kronwall out of the lineup some nights? For Smith? There are about 15 defenders in the NHL I'd potentially take over Kronwall, and I can tell you that none of them have ever played for Detroit

Yeah I'd agree and say the speculation is justified. Franzen turns 36 this year and has been trending down for the past what, 5 years? His comments lead towards him never really enjoying the game all that much Concussions have destroyed careers as of late and Franzen doesn't really seem the type to exactly fight in order to try and come back. (not that it would always help with a concussion case) Buddy takes the smallest hits to the dome and he looks like he got kronwalled

100% we won this trade. We can make a cup run this year with the addition of a decent defender, we have PLENTY of bottom 4 defencemen in the pool, we can afford to lose one. Especially one who couldnt crack it in the minors Janmark has 2 games in america, we'll survive.

Bought Dying Light. Was fun for about 2 days, gets pretty old after awhile. Wouldn't recommend. If you've played Dead Island its basically an upgraded version of it. Definitely improved though. Just alot of reckless running around doing errands and smashing zombies with modded police batons
