Free Press: Pavel Datsyuk to return to Russia following Playoffs
WingsallTheway replied to jdwheelz's topic in General
Team is gonna be pretty rough next year. Were losing our best foward, so Blash will play Z even more. We will probably lose Quincey who isnt great but does make the D better as a whole. E and Kron will be relied on more which is horrible. Holland is a bonehead so he won't trade the contract and we wont have any space to replace Pavel or add a Dman. -
Who will finish as the leading scorer for the Red Wings 2015/2016?
WingsallTheway replied to kickazz's topic in General
I remember back in the day when Lidstrom had something like 88 points and we played Nashville? in the playoffs. Theyre leading scorer had something around 45 points and I thought it was the funniest thing of all time. Well here we are... -
If I'm Blashill this is what I roll with: Glendenning-Glendenning-Glendenning Dylan - Dylan - Dylan - Dylan - Dylan
-
Did Howard just give Blashiill the business? If so, my new favorite player

Datsyuk's reaction to that goal displays how hard the team is playing
-
He is quite the dunce More offsides, more icings, more bobbled passes. Have to think its the system since the team has done a 180 since babs left. Plays vets way too often and AA on the fourth line tonight is hilarious. Richards in the top 6 though......
-
They just said on HNIC that Datsyuk is highly considering going to Russia after this season. Horrible news even though I knew it was coming, I thought for sure he would finish out his contract.
-
Yeah and they're hilarious when you arent the one feeding them
-
Well he rattled me big time at first until I realized you just can't get through to him. I never actually responded to him which is probably why I enjoyed his posts He always sparked massive debates haha

I've read that some people are OK with Pav leaving behind his contract, and others who think its bogus. Pavel Datsyuk is by far, my most favorite player of all time. I try to emulate the way he plays and I'm focused on him the entire time hes on the ice. I've travelled to 4 Wings games to see Pav, and only had luck once because he was injured. I think Pav is the reason I am a major Wings fan today, because I used to get shivers watching him carry the puck as a kid. I find myself not as interested in the team any more, and I think a major part of that is Pavel declining. (I'm still hardcore, just not nearly as much) Having said that, Its absolute BS if Pavel decides to leave. I could understand if he couldn't play any more or if his contract was over. This is a job, where he gets paid ALOT of money. I can't sign a 4 year contract at the local chemistry lab and leave halfway through. Not to mention how hard it handcuffs the Wings capwise and roster wise. Pavel is contemplating leaving the NHL, where he has a contract, to go play in the KHL. I dont care how old you are, who you are, or how loyal you are. If you are able to play you have to do it. Honestly, if he leaves, I think that will be the dagger in him having his jersey retired. Pavel has literally had a perfect career and can tarnish it with just 1 move like this one. Obviously, people will debate each one of my statements but I think it would be a 50/50 split of opinions on whether Pav leaving is OK or not.

Probably my favorite poster once I realized what he was all about lol Too bad though because he did become alot better of a poster. Just way too set on his opinions. He came around towards the end and you could actually convince otherwise on certain topics. Bill I know you're lurking. RIP.

Ken Campbell predicts Stamkos to Detroit blockbuster
WingsallTheway replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
I'd hate a system where I go from scoring 50-60 goals to 35-40 as well. Notice how they've gotten better as a team since? Why would Stamkos be happy in Detroit where his point totals will likely go down somewhere around 25% and have to focus even more on defence? -
The game against Boston is our biggest one. Its very intereresting because you couldn't ask for 3 better teams to play at the end of the season. All 3 teams are within reach of us in the playoffs and its sort of like a mini playoff. I love it
-
That is a good idea but I don't think Holland would really do that with our current cap situation. There arent really any big name FA's this upcoming offseason and Holland doesn't necessarily need that cap space. I'm sure he would just elect to keep him on the roster so he retires a wing
-
Rule has been around for a long time. Its so veterans who are over that age don't sign long-term contracts that cant be fulfilled. Honestly, if it comes down to that its Datsyuk's fault, he should play out his contract because he still plays at a high level

Tony Granato next Wisconsin Head Coach
WingsallTheway replied to HockeytownRules19's topic in General
I agree that Z hasn't been a spectacular captain but I don't think Datsyuk would be comfortable taking care of media all the time, probably to the point of distraction. Its odd how we've gone from 4-5 captain material guys to 2-0 over a few seasons. -
3/28 GDT : BUFFALO SABRES AT DETROIT RED WINGS, 7:30 PM ET
WingsallTheway replied to WingedWheel91's topic in General
Kronwall is too slow right now to be covering for Green. Honestly though, with our D, I'm not really sure there are any pairings that make sense. -

Pretty sure it was Chelios' personal decision not to be a full-time assistant coach. Could be wrong, but I'm almost certain he was offered a full time position and claimed he didn't want that commitment yet. I'm sure he will soon. -

RIP Wisconsin Power Play Actually, RIP Wisconsin -
I'd rather not make the playoffs than have to deal with the frustrations of playing 4 games against Washington. At least we have a 1% chance at Matthews The way our D has been playing, I honestly don't think we could win a playoff game against any of the teams currently in the picture.

Yeah, Bert will not amount to anything more than a 4th line agitator who plays maybe 40 games a season. If he makes it to the NHL that is. Never really saw the hype

Ken Campbell predicts Stamkos to Detroit blockbuster
WingsallTheway replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Yeah, I think being a "complete player" can be a bit overrated at times. If someone scores 70 points but is above average defensively doesn't make them better than someone who gets 110 points. In a given game, I'll take a number of players over Stamkos. Crosby, Malkin, Toews, Kane, Keith, Doughty, Price, Ovechkin, Benn, Seguin. The only two players here who's offensive output doesn't nullify theyre lack of defence are potentially OV and Kane. If I'm starting a franchise today, I still take Crosby, Toews, Kane, Keith, Doughty, and Seguin over Stamkos. And Frank, with your logic; Kopitar should be the best player in the NHL because he is as good defensively as anyone and he also has 24G 41A +31. Offence isnt everything but neither is defence. Its not like Stamkos is a perrential Selke candidate. -
Ken Campbell predicts Stamkos to Detroit blockbuster
WingsallTheway replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Can't really compare Stamkos to Yzerman, whether a player improves or not is purely a case-by-case basis. You could argue all day about that but the main point I wanted to make is Stammer is not even close to top 2 in the NHL. Also, this sums up pretty much everything I could ever think of do try and get my point across about Stamkos. Thank you haha -

Strongly disagree here. I also don't think hes in his prime (even though hes at his "prime age" and I believe hes had his most productive seasons already. Stamkos doesn't scare me like he did 3 years ago and I don't think he ever will
