Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted October 27, 2005 Baseball does suck compared to hockey and football, but I still follow in hopes that the Tigers will win one in my lifetime, I miss the last one by a year. My girlfriend comes from a family of diehard Cubs fans, so this is just more salt in the wounds. The Red Sox win and end their drought, the Southside wins and ends their drought and gets to shove it in Cubs fans faces. I didnt care who won, I just wanted to see a team win it at home again. Sting 11 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2005 I'm a Cubs fan, but since I'm not from Chicago I don't care about the whole North Side/South Side thing. I'm happy for the White Sox, it's good to see fans who've waited for so long finally get theirs, and it's good for the game for franchises who haven't won in a while, especially classic franchises like the Sox, to find success. A World Series win is great I was seven in '68 and twenty three in '84 -- having not been in a penant race since I was twenty six (1987). Alot you younger guys have been cheated out of some great times by the lousy Tigers -- I hope you get to enjoy a race soon. It is alot of fun.
