Heaton 1 Report post Posted November 6, 2005 I just have one thing to say again, Scotty Vines is out best WR, and that's, pretty f**king sad.
betterREDthandead 58 Report post Posted November 6, 2005 pleh. put the wraps on this season....6-10 here we come. I just want to scream.....what Fates did the Lions piss off to have EVERY SINGLE impact player miss games for one reason or another?? seems like it, anyway. Jeff Garcia, Roy Williams, Charles Rogers, Kevin Johnson, Dre Bly, Shaun Rogers, Teddy Lehman, Fernando Bryant, Eddie Drummond. Jeff Backus has been playing hurt. Boss Bailey's still recovering from last year. Mike Williams has been playing hurt. Now Kevin Jones leaves the game! This is not entirely the fault of Joey or Mooch....a reasonably healthy Lions team would be 5-3 right now and in front of the division. I'm still driving the Trade For Matt Schaub bandwagon and I'm drafting off of the much larger Bench Joey bandwagon.
dallas27 7 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 (edited) Did you see that awesome 2 yard pass Joey threw on 4th and 7 to lose any shot of winning the game. It's not all of Joeys or Mooches fault but they play a big role in it. Joey can't make a right decision for the life of him and Mooch and the oc can't call play for the life of them. I'm sick of Joey Harrington throwing it 3 yards on third down when they need 6. The sad thing is he has been doing it since his rookie year. And for petes sake Joey get rid of the damn ball, throw it away, dump it off, do something. He does so many wrong things that I think Kyle Orton or any other rookie quarterback doesn't do this year. Prichett is right, Joey should just pack his bag, sell his house, and ditch town. It's obvious that he's not going to thrive on this team, he's regressing and he's still making those rookie mistakes. *EDIT* Prichett is also right in the fact that Mooches offense just isn't working in Detroit. You can see the obvious success it has elsewhere but it just ain't happenin' here. Get Rivers over here and impliment San Diegos offense here, KJ needs at least 30 touches a game like LT does over there. I think Garcia is an improvement over Joey. Matt 1,049 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 Did you see that awesome 2 yard pass Joey threw on 4th and 7 to lose any shot of winning the game. Did you see the dumbass receiver break on his route three years short of the first down marker? This team is a f*cking joke. I'm depressed that I'm even going to the game against Arizona next week. MOOCH MUST BE FIRED. /Would be happy with Schuab.
Heaton 1 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 How many passing touchdowns does Garcia have? Garcia is a LATERAL movement from Joey, there is ZERO difference. They both are INCAPABLE of winning games consistently. Garcia doens't have T.O. anymore, Garcia is a below average quarterback, just like Joey.
dallas27 7 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 Did you see the dumbass receiver break on his route three years short of the first down marker? There are other recievers out there are there not? And you can guess for a fact that the reciever breaking yards short of the sticks was called for the play. It's not like we have never seen it before. Regardless Joey has to throw it past the sticks, plain and simple, force it in there, but you HAVE to throw it past the sticks. --You are judging Garcia based on two games. He single handely won the Cleveland game but pretty much lost it for them two weeks ago. There is a difference between the two, Garcia can make plays and Joey can't. You have seen from both games that Garcia can make plays. Sometimes it gets him in trouble other times it makes him look awesome, that's the change you take. But you have seen all 3 years that Joey has been here that he can't make plays. How can you judge a qb on passing touchdowns? I could give a f less if Joey, Garcia, or Orvlosky passed for 200 yards and 1 td as long as they win the game and keep the offense moving. How about Garcia is a diagonal movement from Joey. Now that the season is pretty much tanked for I say start Orvlosky, see if he can do anything. It's certainly not going to hurt. Maybe Favre will leave Green Bay...pick up him...but I don't think any logical qb would want to come to Detroit.
johnogrodnickfanclub 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 I mentioned this last season...I feel like I need to bring it up again... Last season, Steve Young and Chris Collinsworth and Jaws all said that there isn't a single QB in the league that could succeed in Detroit. Well...in my opinion, not much has changed since last year...o-line still sucks, offensive play calling still sucks, recievers still suck, players still injured... This team is a MESS from head to toe...from GM to ball boy. Concentrating on the QB position alone (as it usually seems to happen) is like worrying about the cut on your hand while ignoring all the other cuts all over your body. We blow everywhere...it's just sad...

Vines was the flanker receiver all day and his route should have been to the sticks. That's it. (It's equally frustrating that if Joey had time to pump fake to Vines the safety bit HARD on that pass... leaving Fitsimmons *wide open* 15-20 yards downfield.) And I would agree with that but Joey still has to know that he has to throw it past the sticks. Oh well.... I forgot to mention this but also, the thing I like about Garcia is that he gets pissed at himself when he does make a mistake. He just doesn't walk off like Joey going through the motions. Two weeks ago you could read Garcia's lips just letting off a f-bomb.

Heaton 1 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 Why did Cleveland get rid of Garcia then laugh at us for picking him then? Wanna explain that? Is TRENT DILFER that much of an improvement?

Although I missed this weeks Lions comedy show it seems Mooch is trying to trick me. Definatly would have bet on a Bryson draw play in that situation. That sneaky bastard is really shaking things up!
