timothy1997 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 I am sick of Mooch and his overrated coaching ability. Time to fire the coach and let Dick Jauron coach for the rest of the year. Just saw another one of those Lincoln Mecury "We're building something good here" commerical. After 3 years, I am still trying to figure out what exactly they are building. Normally, next week's game would be a gimmie with Arizona in town. But with this lions team, they couldn't beat a pee wee football team now. Time to rebuild! Time to FINALLY build something good!!!! Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 I dont really care, I'm convinced no matter what the Lions do they'll never be better than mediocre. I'm only 19 and I've lost all confidence in seeing a Lions Super Bowl game, much less a win.
timothy1997 0 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 I admit. This team fooled me over the last 5 years. Drafting BIG name players like Harrington, Charles Rogers, Roy Williams, Mike Williams, and Kevin Jones. I thought maybe this team would have a chance to just MAKE THE PLAYOFFS. Hard to believe that the best player from today's game is an undrafted Scottie Vines. This team, makes me sick.
gowingsgo 3 Report post Posted November 7, 2005 When all else fails you build up your defense as a franchise and then put the pieces in offensively. Indy did that backwards and built a hell of an offense and then added defensive players. Detroit from the top down just doesnt seem to get personnel decisions very well. This goes back to when Barry Sanders was the greatest RB of our time and the front office never got him any linemen to block. Sanders got the bulk of his yardage without having a great line. Emmitt Smith got his yardage only because he had a great line. Its a shame the Lions squander all their talent. They are eerily similar to how the LA Clippers draft so many good young players but are never able to piece the whole thing together.

IE...Brown, Glover. We have never been able to draft or scout well. Much more of our draft picks...especially in the first round, have been busts.

I'm only 19 and I've lost all confidence in seeing a Lions Super Bowl game, much less a win. I agree the Lion seem to be a cursed franchise. I've got 15+ years on you and they've been bad-mediocre my whole life (mostly just plain bad). Mariucci was a good coach before he came to the Lions. They got a #1 pick and got a dud in Harrington - yet other franchises wind up with the Mannings or Rothlisberger, etc. Brady was right under their nose - yet the Pats get a superstar in the late rounds. It doesn't help that their management isn't top notch either. I don't mean to be so gloomy, but it is just that bad. The only thing Lions fans have to look forward to is a potential win on Turkey day every year.

That being said, as much as the Lions dont deserve to be even in the same field as the falcons, they probably will win that game. Lions have a tendency to win the games they have no business winning. gowingsgo 3 Report post Posted November 11, 2005 I only wish the Lions could have taken care of Barry Sanders better. The gave him a bad deal by not putting anyone around him. The Ford's need to be more hands on with the team and really clear out the whole front office from Millen down to the scouts and start the whole thing over.
