Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 Well it was an old crappy work car which sucks. A Vauxhall Astra old style: Looks like the late 80's Ford Laser, which I like.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 (edited) Here are the two cars my wife and I have: Except the car is silver rather than white. Thats right everyone. My wife and I are the only couple in the world that drive a Lexus RX300 and a Chevy Cavalier. Soon, I'd like to get rid of the Cavalier, and get a VW Passat 4-matic. All in good time. Need to get a couple more comission checks before that though. Edited March 10, 2006 by Never Forget Mac #
dallas27 7 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 And you can have your rice burners... Don't be sad that Ford has the best selling truck in America Nothing rice about my truck there little one.... You have a Ranger right? My Tacoma would put leave your foRD in its place. Do your homework on NUMMI and the specs and come back and talk. Tacoma and 4Runner's are hands down better off road vehicles stock than your Trail Blazer, Explorer, Jee, F-150, Ram 1500, and Chevy.. I do not even think you can get a rear locking differential in them. Have / had a Ranger, it's gone the 13th. I wasn't talking about the Ranger, I could care less about that piece of s**t lol. I could care less about off-roading... If you want to talk smack about cars I'm game. My dad is getting the new Shelby Cobra... When you can beat that come back and talk

dallas27 7 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 (edited) And let me apologize for loving and respecting my "daddy" to death. He works virtually three jobs to pay off his house, my moms car, the Shelby he is getting, and all the bills. *edit* He works harder than anyone here...and he still finds time to go out with me on the golf course. I'm sorry that I am excited that he is getting a limited production car. Edited March 10, 2006 by dallas27
Kattermole 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 Manuals are the only way to go. I love thrashing a car and getting the revs into the red (only if it's a work car though, if it's mine or something i would drive it really carefully.)

He works virtually three jobs to pay off his house, my moms car, the Shelby he is getting, and all the bills. I'm sorry that I am excited that he is getting a limited production car. It is excellent that you love your dad and your mother I am hoping as I love my parents, but when you tell me to come back and you talk about your dad's Shelby? That is nothing but boasting there bro. And really, if your dad has to work 3 jobs to pay for a house and a limited edition vehicle it seems he needs to reevaluate things in his life. If he is doing it to put you through college or your sister, then cool... But if you really love him, you would take out loans on your own and pay for school. But I do not know what your situation or your family dynamics so everyone is different and I respect that...

And then it appeared as if you are trying to claim you are somehow better than me becuase you have a Tacoma, lol. I had a Dodge, a Ford, and a GM... I had a Mustang and Ranger... Simple as this, my Tacoma is far better is most aspects as the previous vehicles I have owned... And no, I am not saying I am better because I drive this certain vehicle or etc, sorry if I am coming across like that... My vehicle is transportation and gets me from Point A to point B. A vehicle is not an investment, but since I drive about 25,000 miles a year it is nice to have a decent vehicle and certain level of comfort. You totally understand the feeling of a manual and enjoying the vehicle as a whole... The entire excitement of hearing the RPM's! Now if the gf would think like this... Kattermole 0 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 (edited) I'm a bit of a car freak actually, all my girl friends think I am weird cos I'll make comments about cars when we're out and stuff, or when their bf's give me a lift somewhere I'm like "What's tne engine size? turbo?" My Grandad has an automatic that I'm going to try next time i see him, but I think I'll prefer the manual. I just like the control. This is the car I want my Mum to get next. I have been trying to persuade her for ages and I think I'm winning her round When I can afford my own car, I want a BMW Mini convertible with a chilli pack, which is like when they do it all up with alloys etc. Edited March 10, 2006 by Kattermole

Well, you can either apologize for saying "if your dad has to work 3 jobs to pay for a house and a limited edition vehicle it seems he needs to reevaluate things in his life. " or get your ass beat. You don't even know what their situation is or how big the house is or how my parents live or anything so why in the blue hell would you say that? "Virtually" three jobs = working for Ford, umping baseball, and reffing basketball. The key word was virtually... And I pay for my own school and everything I have. But go ahead and keep on assuming things.

He prob does it because he enjoys it... As for Ford, my Dad and Uncle did the Ford thing... They just got tired of it.... My arse beat, do not threaten.... And it is good you pay for your school, I wish more kids were like that. And it is good you pay for your school, I wish more kids were like that. Umping and reffing can actually be a heavy income, it depends on how high you go. My dad makes real good money doing it, not sure how high he is though. He knows people that just ump in the summer and ref in the winter. There is a lot more money in it than what you would think. And say anything negative about my dad and s**t hits the fan.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted March 10, 2006 mac, I see you have a "Lexus" in the family! Anyone see the new Dodge Caliber? Now that is a neat vehicle. Thanks. Yeah, my wife and I love the RX300. I actually have her drive it since I put on more miles going to work. But, during the night time or weekends, thats all I drive. I haven't seen the new Dodge Caliber, BTW. I'm not huge into cars, or what makes them up. However, I know what I like to drive, and that's good enough for me. Also, I just flat out trust Lexus/Toyota. My dad got a Lexus when I was in high school, and I swore to myself when I got out of college I'd get one too. Never been happier with a ride.
