From Hockey's Future:

Detroit Red Wings defensive prospect Kyle Quincey is finding plenty of success in his rookie season with the club’s minor league affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.

With an impressive collection of youth and talent, the Griffins have played their way into first place in the Western Conference’s North Division (41-15-1-4, 87 points), and the 20-year-old is a big part of the reason why.

Please don't paste an entire article. As noted, there are obvious copyright issues involved. A small section and the link to the main article will do, thanks.

That being said, Quincey has progressed nicely. Kid still needs to add some bulk to that frame.

pish posh...anyway. wink.gif Ya Quincey is turning into a hell of a player. I hope if he does end up in the red and white full time next year they pair him with either Kronwall or Lids. Both would help him develop his game.

Quincey is scarely strong, i don't know how many times i have seen the opposition player take a run at him and come off worse and Quincey just skates away. I saw him against cleveland a few weeks ago and one of their players hit Quincey with a cheap hit along the boards which stung Quincey, the next shift they were on together the guy was skating threw centre ice and Quincey demolished the guy with one of the most viscious open ice hits ive seen to date, it was a clean hit but the crowd all went silent and they knew the guy was hurt, he never returned to the game.

It's good to hear Quincey's coming along with his physical game, Hatcher#2.

IMO, Kyle is a rather underrated prospect in our system and from what I've read, he has the makings of a solid d-man. RWC seems to think of him as a defensive defenceman, but I gather he's put up half-decent point totals in the AHL.

And it's nice to have him considering the drop-off we have in solid defensive prospects after Kronwall. But if Quincey and Kindl can develop at the rate they have this season, it shouldn't really be a problem.

Before this season he was underrated, but i think he has gone up in alot of peoples opinions with the way he has played so far this year and i think he is one of the top defensive prospects in the Wings system. The future of the Wings defence is looking good.IMO
