Guest GodofHockeyStevieY19 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 I must say. I really dont like that song. The guy singing it has a horrible voice(in my opinion) and its just kinda cheesy to me. If I never hear that song again it will be too soon. But I sure do agree with the general message of the song. Thats for sure. 1 Heavymentill reacted to this
Flip-check 6 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 It is but a cheap knock-off of "O Fortuna"! If you were seeking to rally a whole town - nay, city-state of metro Detroiters, would you choose this? Or this? -- O Fortuna, velut luna, statu variabilis, Semper crescis aut decrescis, vita detestabilis. Nunc obdurat et tunc curat ludo mentis aciem. Egestatem, potestatem dissolvit ut glaciem. Sors immanis et inanis, rota tu volubilis, Status malus, vana salus, semper dissolubilis. Obumbrata et velata mihi quoque niteris. Nunc per ludum, dorsum nudum fero tui sceleris. Sors salutis et virtutis, mihi nunc contraria, Est affectus et defectus, semper in angaria. Hac in hora, sine mora, corde pulsum tangite, Quod per sortem, sternit fortem, mecum omnes plangite. The answer is clear, ladies and sirs. (Also... think Carmina Burana if it isn't coming quickly. It is the minute and a half rush of choral fear that we all know and have heard. Translation's here)

Flip-check 6 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 (edited) Latin is so in tonight. It is always in, mi amigo. But you're right. It was made for the playoffs. Edited April 11, 2007 by Flip-check
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 It is always in, my amigo. I know, earlier today I was all, ipso facto, ad hoc, del taco, et cetera. And all the ladies was like, amor! amor!, and I was like jawesome, which is not Latin. But you're right. It was made for the playoffs. The last line of O Fortuna's got it right: "Everyone lament with me!" That's pretty much playoff hockey in a nutshell. Unless you happen to be Detroit.* *Foreshadowing. It is a place that offers Shrimp & Papas. http://deltaco.com/ That's pretty much playoff hockey in a nutshell. Unless you happen to be Detroit.* *Foreshadowing. Stepping on graves is a severe sign of bad luck, sir, and you would be wise not to rile the spirit world! If you value the praises of lady-love. Let us hope that this year's squad makes your literary technique true, however.
Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted April 11, 2007 Neither is del taco! It is a place that offers Shrimp & Papas. http://deltaco.com/ I'm sure that's what they'd love for you to believe! I just so happened to be cruising through ancient Rome the other day, and wouldn't you know it: COINCIDENCE??? Let us hope that this year's squad makes your literary technique true, however. Hopefully that as opposed to repetition...
