Red Kingdom 4 Report post Posted September 6, 2006 Just 30 minutes after their game ended in a 5-4 loss, the Tigers have released Dimitri Young, unconditionally. Guess that means he's gone, no return. When he came back, he was hot but, had really cooled off lately but, something else must have been going on to just up and cut him like that. He was lifted for PH in todays game. Maybe he reacted badly to it and Leyland decided he wasn't gonna put up with that. Or, he's going back to his old ways and disrupting the clubhouse. Guess we'll find out more.
Draper_Rocks#33 4 Report post Posted September 7, 2006 i truly do belive that it was not proformence that got him cut...it has to do with his clubhouse behavior..
mannysBETTER3434 1 Report post Posted September 7, 2006 I was really surpised this happend. It has to be because of his behavior. I remember hearing stories last year about some serious clubhouse problems with a few players and Young's name would be mentioned alot.
Lou_Siffer 1 Report post Posted September 7, 2006 My first thought was for an off the field reason. But, the more i think about it, maybe the performance thing is legit. Here we have a guy who cant play the field, and is a solely a DH. Hes certainly not the only guy thats been scuffling, but he is one that doesnt offer anything BUT his bat. And if that aint workin, he's got nothing. I tend to believe Leyland as well.
wingslogo19 281 Report post Posted September 9, 2006 yeah i'd agree that it wasn't his level of play.. he was a big cancer in the clubhouse.. anyone got an idea where he's going to end up before the season's end? or if he will even play this rest of this year?
