Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 This game makes me feel like we need someone other than Forsberg. The Wings were just physically dominated the entire game... I even think I saw Lilja go flying along the boards in the second period.
datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 You know...if these team can't handle a bunch of games clumped together, we're looking at a quick first round exit. Because, you know, the playoffs are kinda like that. we all know the most important trophy is the president's
HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 The Wings were incredibly man handled tonight. I've seriously never been more pissed. I don't even care about the damn score, it's the way they let the Flyers rough them up that's got me absolutely fumed. I'm sick of it and like I said earlier..it better be fixed and soon! You simply cannot last in the post season like that. The Wings are a fantastic puck possesion team and they have great skill, but that is NOT going to win you a series alone. They need to get bigger, tougher, and grittier and let it be known that they won't be messed with nor will they tolerate it. PLEASE DO SOMETHING NOW KENNY. If this game wasn't enough of a way to show him how deseperately they are in need of some enforcers/physicality then I don't know what does.

I even think I saw Lilja go flying along the boards in the second period. first of all, babcock needs to find a way to get this team to play 60 minutes. he even said himself when he was interviewed mid-way through the second "we'll get it going as the game goes on." what kind of an attitude is that for a coach to have. this team needs to quit taking periods off because they think they can just pull away in the third. Agree!! How long has it been since the Wings played a total 60 minute game (except last game, when even then they took 10 minutes off to make the game semi-scary). esteef 2,679 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 no reason to panic because of jus one irrelevant game. but hey, it really pisses me off to see Wings collapsing that badly... My thoughts exactly. If anything, the last couple of games just showcase for Holland exactly what we need at the deadline. Let's hope he chooses wisely... esteef

wingslogo19 281 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 Ok WOW, were the wings fully outplayed in this game in pretty much every aspect of the game... Hockey is a full 60 minutes so wings show up for the entire game, no excuses here... Now this is why we need BERT on our team, someone who will stick up for our star players.. Zetts and Dats were getting pushed around out there tonight, we need a grinder BADLY... Bert I think is the answer if HE'S HEALTHY

Zetts and Dats were getting pushed around out there tonight not to mention macdonald. as much as our goalies get roughed up on this team and the guys hardly bat an eye. i don't know about bert, however. he's too big of a question mark health-wise. especially since he won't play most likely bofore the deadline. he's not nearly as tough as he was before his suspension, either. Well there's no doubt, what our goalie got ran like 3 times and we were just standing around to see if the ref had put his arm up.. When i played hockey and someone hit our goalie or even nudged into him it was a fight, or we took it out on them... WINGS PLEASE STAND UP FOR OUR GOALIES

WINGS PLEASE STAND UP FOR OUR GOALIES exactly, it's pathetic. homer gets his ass kicked every night simply for standing outside of the crease (and reputation ) we let them sit infront of the goalie all night long. hell, they can even take a run at him, we don't care. I know, it just seems like the wings don't care if there goalie gets hit or run over... And im just wondering is Babs saying anything in the dressing room to the boys.... Whats it going to take for someone to jump on someone who hits our goalies... HASEK BEING INJURED FOR THE YEAR

HASEK BEING INJURED FOR THE YEAR imagine losing z and dats too. these guys are small. it doesn't take a whole lot put them down (of courese you have to hit them first, they're so shifty ) but they get run into the ground and nobody does anything. god, it's so frustrating. almost as frustrating as losing 6-1 to the flyers. Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 The words , Flyers , man-handled and red wings shouldnt be used in the same sentence , but Joey was awful , lilja wa sLilja , god even Lidstrom was bad tonight , It proves again we need toughness , if we dont get some , Lilja will be turtling in game 4 of the playoffs as the wings blow a lead and get swept. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 I heard when Eager was mic'd up for tonights game that he said to the Flyers "They got nothing, keep pounding boys." as in the Wings have nothing and to keep pounding at them with their physical play. Ugh. What does that tell ya?!

Yea, sadly the team is used to hasek's impressive 2.08 GAA...Mac averaged 5 GAA the past two nights--we are lucky to get one win out of this. I'd be freaking if we were totally healthy and this happened. Lets get healthy, maybe a couple trades [Kenny] and hopefully we'll avoid massacres by less than average teams. EDIT:: the virus that is andreas lilja needs to go, ASAP. Edited February 13, 2007 by Schneids_is_awesome

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted February 13, 2007 Don't press it!!!!!!!!! Seriously, 4 games in 6 days will wear you out. They're tired, and you would be do if you played that many in a short time and had to travel. It's not like this team is sweating to make the playoffs. Try to regroup for Dallas and at the very least, you're very well-rested for Saturday's game. Let's all lay off the idiot posting fuel and realize there's plenty of hockey left to be played to figure things out before the post season.
