OGRE ACHIEVERS: Kris Draper sees himself as the Lord Farquaad of his line, surrounded by an ogre and a donkey.

Teammates, especially the Eurotwins, find fault with that, but everyone agrees that overall, the line is a pain for opponents.

The Johan Franzen-Draper-Kirk Maltby trio is one of the Wings' key methods of containing top opposing forwards, and tonight against Chicago they'll likely be out against Martin Havlat, who leads the Blackhawks with 23 goals and 46 points in 37 games.

While Draper and Maltby have played together for much of the season, Franzen started on an offensive line.

He might deserve a shot at seeing if he can make something happen with Lang's stagnant line, but then that would mess with the chemistry Franzen has developed with Draper and Maltby.

Also, that would affect the whole Shrek motif Draper has thought up: Maltby as donkey, Franzen as the ogre himself.

Asked about the designations, Draper said he had his reasons, especially regarding Maltby.

"Well, he doesn't stop talking and he's annoying," Draper began, laughing, "and those are two of his finer characteristics."

Franzen is Shrek, Draper said, because "some people call him an ogre."

As for himself, "I could be Farquaad, you know, the little guy -- small guy syndrome," Draper said. "A dragon eats me."

Asked if he had a rebuttal, Maltby smiled and revealed Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk think Draper is a beast.

"I am a bit of a pain in the" rear, Maltby said, "but the Euros, especially Hank and Pav, called him Shrek because he looks like a small ogre."
