Wings_Rule_1010 4 Report post Posted March 21, 2007 See this is the reason why I don't want the Wings to win the division. Let Nashville face Calgary in the 1st round. I'm happy playing either Dallas or San Jose. I just don't want to play Calgary.

Mighty Wings 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2007 Lack of effort and Too many penalties are why maybe the wings lost on Saturday. But there's no way you can blame them for that tonight, especially when the Refs take over the F*****G game like that, knowing that this is an injury-riddled team. datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted March 21, 2007 I don't think the people on here that are all doom and gloom realize how absolutely pathetic they sound. GET REAL. They freaking lose two games in a row and they go from being the best to now being awful and not good enough for the playoffs? Are you guys kidding me? It's people like some of you on here who give us Wings fans a bad name. Either stick with the team through it all or STFU. A loss is a loss. It's going to happen. That's just the way the game goes and if you guys can't handle watching them lose then don't watch them at all. relax. Babcock refused to blame the refs, but called out Hasek for flopping on the 2nd goal trying to draw a penalty. did he really? dom's been doing a little bit too much venturing and flopping lately. but otherwise he was solid tonight. YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted March 21, 2007 (edited) 1.You usually have to play your best hockey to win, that's why you play 2.The losing team usually didn't play better than the team that won. 3.You win in the 7th game of the SCF by one goal YOU WIN THE STANLEY CUP. 4.Excuses. 5.Other guys should step up.Face it BERT OR HANK are not going to be 100% when they come back. can you use the word "usually" one more time?? Look at what happened to Nashville with injures. Edmonton. Anaheim. Quit your bitching and suck it up. It happens to every team. Go home and cry into your superman pillow. HockeyCrazy3033 168 Report post Posted March 21, 2007 I said going in to these two games against Vancouver and Calgary that they were to be much bigger tests than the home-and-home with Nashville. The Red Wings failed the test. Anybody who isn't worried about the Red Wings in the playoffs really just isn't looking at this clearly or hasn't learned this lesson already. Talk about injuries and talk about officiating all you want, the Wings are not currently in the position to win a seven-game series with a team like Vancouver or Calgary. Injuries are a HUGE part of any team and if you aren't seeing that then you're the one not looking at this clearly. The Wings have been phenemonal in the last month with a depleted line up. They beat the best team back to back and just kept on rolling. Now they lose two games against Western Canada so that means they aren't good enough for the playoffs? I couldn't disagree more. The Wings are fine where they are at. They have a great team and will be fantastic once Bert and Hank are back in the line up..and of course Cleary. Just having ONE of them back makes a huge difference, imagine the three. Once this team gets healthy it's the other teams in the playoffs that should fear the Wings. Some of you guys take losses overboard and this proves it.

I already have a post up about our schedule, and I had us losing this game I beileve. Guess what? We still can finsh first overall. If we don't it really doesn't have any implication on the postseason. Babs is right, most important thing is getting healthy. Zetter and Cleary need to come back as they both bring a bit more energy and two way play to the game. Only thing that worries me is how Lidstrom is slumping a bit. I think this past week might have cost him the Norris...

I'm happy playing either Dallas or San Jose. man, I don't know who I want in the first round. San Jose might be OK. Dallas? I see them play more often than any other NHL team, and let me tell you, as inconsistent as they are sometimes, they can bring it when they want to. I watched them play their guts out on Sunday, and win in OT 5-4 (vs. Yoties) in a poorly officiated game. They have injuries to some key players, as well. I believe the Wings will get back on track with Bert and a couple of others in the lineup again. I worry they won't have time to adjust and get some sort of rhythm going before the end of the season. But if any team can do it, it's the Wings!

YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted March 21, 2007 I cant believe people are freaking out about losing to a team that got a helping hand from the refs, cant win on the road, were entirely healthy facing a non-healthy team and needed to win to save their playoff asses while the Wings sit comfortably in the standings. That's just the way the game goes and if you guys can't handle watching them lose then don't watch them at all. But, see, you are completely missing the point. You can't sit there and tell me that you think the Red Wings are perfectly fine after witnessing them lose to Vancouver and Calgary....again. Look, I don't know how to explain it other than the fact that teams like Vancouver, Calgary, Anaheim, San Jose etc. are grittier and faster than the Red Wings and, when it counts most, they seem to amp it up to another level while the Wings remain at a plateau. Why is it so much more obvious on the road? I have no idea. But it doesn't really matter. What matters is that, up to this point, the Red Wings have been unable to beat the Western Canada/California disease that has attacked them throughout the regular season and playoffs for the better part of the last decade. I realize that there are injuries and I realize maybe the officiating could have been better, but stop pretending like it was "only one game," because it wasn't. The loss tonight and the loss on Saturday have continued a trend that, if not stopped, will the the Red Wings downfall.
Zetterberg_is_god 0 Report post Posted March 21, 2007 Ooops I hit the reply button too fast there. I think we will be fine when Zetts and Big Bert come back, they are both playoff players. I just fear us playing San Jose in round 1.
