Inultus 12 Report post Posted April 16, 2007 I specifically want to know if the Joe was sold out yesterday (and if so was the place actually full or didn't everyone who had a ticket show up?). In general, where can I find postseason attendance records? I found regular season records on ESPN, but I can't find any for this postseason. Thanks.
GoWings1905 2,694 Report post Posted April 16, 2007 The announced attendance for Game 2 was 19,751. Another non-sell out for a playoff game If you go to NHL.com and look at the box scores, they list the attendance at the bottom of the page.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted April 16, 2007 (edited) Game did NOT sell out... You could still get tickets in 15 seat quantites in section 203 at the puck drop. There were several sparse areas around the Joe (mainly in the normally $44 section... now $81) There was Numerous Calgary fans in attendence (however I couldn't tell if they were from Canada or just from detroit.... I would gather from Canada as living in detroit you really don't get enough exposure of the flames) Even without the Sell Out Revenue still would have been more than any given sell out in the regular season. Even without the Sell Out, the crowd was 10x as loud and energetic as the regular season sell out crowd. Despite what the TV mics picked up from the crowd. But I once again challenge all those who are angry with the non sell out... Don't just ***** and moan... do your part... spend your cash... get your ass in those empty seats. I was listening to AM 1270 this morning, and I agree that the two main factors in the non sell-out are 1. Fans don't want to feel like they are wasting their money for another 1st round flame out (which I would agree with, I attended game 1 against Edmonton last year and am hesitant to buy tickets this year because of that 1st round exit), and 2. The Michigan economy is pretty awful right now, spending these high playoff ticket prices doesn't seem to be on the top priority list right now. But I would put money down you won't see a non sell-out again in the Joe this season. Game 5 and 7 will sell out, and if we advance beyond that I have all the confidence that wallets will open up for those.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted April 16, 2007 Uh Oh! He said the dreaded "A" word! The crowd was still extremely loud in the game yesterday, even if it was a non-sellout. And in my opinion, I really didn't see a whole lot of empty seats. And these were lower bowl seats too, which are the more expensive/corperate seats anyways. The building looked pretty full to me.
