I am watching both CBC and VS, and there is a HUGE difference. Although there are many haters of both, the cbc broadcast seems to appeal to the more advanced hockey fan by analyzing plays along with situations, while the VS crew talks about the top 10 plays of the week and other crap like that.. hardly anything about the game being played. Its really painful watching vs. (although i hate how cbc is so biased towards the canadian teams)

The Goaltender Interference call in this seasons playoff reminds me of the "in the crease" calls in the 1999 season. Remmber how intense those were called? And of course the Hull incident.

The Hull incident was a byproduct of a midseason attempt to fix the crease rule.

In January of 99, an addendum was added to the strict 'no feet' rule that said a goal would count with a player in the crease under certain circumstances. The player could remain in the crease after the puck left if he had entered legally, so long as he gained possession of the puck while it was in the crease, and remained in possession until the goal was scored.

This was intended to stop breakaway goals from being disallowed because the puck carrier's skates were in the crease--see Peter Forsberg's breakaway goal against the Wings in game 5 for another implementation of this addendum.

Hull's goal counted because of an unintended loophole. It was closer to the kind that should be disallowed except that it fit all the criteria of the language used in the addendum, and was therefore technically legal.
