Kcjacoby 10 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 I loved going to the away games at the Joe... what ever happened to it? Was it just not worth it? Or were they going to be charging $50 to watch it on the big screens?

wingsfan75 2 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 It seems to me that Joevision was replaced by the big screens at Hockeytown Cafe. They have been advertising the HTC for all of the playoffs. I would hope that they might bring it back for the Finals if we make it but I'm not holding my breath. I'm sure they make quite a bit more money doing the games at HTC rather than the Joe. OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 I wish they would bring it back... that has been my complaint ever since the 2nd round. That was so much fun to go to the JLA for the 10:30 start games and pick out your seat to watch the games with all those fans. $50 for a ticket... this isn't standing room we are talking about... you actually get a seat... more like $75 a ticket It was fun for the $5 then $10 they charged. I'm trying to tell myself that it was just the fact that we were playing 3 West coast teams... and maybe if it wasn't too far away they might have had it on... But I'd take going to the Joe compared to the HTC anyday...

But I'd take going to the Joe compared to the HTC anyday... You're lying to yourself, stop that! .. The 10:30pm games was what I remember going to. You wouldn't leave until like 1am, it was great... I remember watching Vancouver series as well as the LA Kings series back in the day. Edited May 22, 2007 by OsGOD
wingsfan75 2 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 Do you think they would seriously charge $50 or more for a ticket to the Joe for JoeVision??? I guess they would make money that way but it sure taints the whole experience to me. I would think that $15 maybe $20 would be my maximum that I'd be willing to pay for that. OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 No I think that was a joke... or at least on my end it was... the last time I went.. LA KINGS in '03 I believe it was $10.
wingsfan75 2 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 Man, I was just thinking 'Holy S**t! These guys would be willing to pay that kind of jack to watch the f'n jumbotron!' I'm glad you two were joking. I had the pleasure of watching the final game of the 1998 SCF there. It was a blast! I always enjoy it.

I had the pleasure of watching the final game of the 1998 SCF there. It was a blast! I always enjoy it. I was there too! Got interviewed by the Free Press and made it into the next day's championship edition! One of the crowning moments of my youth. Always had a blast at JoeVision, but I just don't think the excitement is there to generate enough fans going (we can't even sell out actual games). I don't miss the Howling Diablos, though

Always had a blast at JoeVision, but I just don't think the excitement is there to generate enough fans going (we can't even sell out actual games). I don't miss the Howling Diablos, though I thought we all knew we couldn't sell out for the prices. And yes, the $50 was a joke... I would think it would be at max $20 now.. but I'd like to stick with my $10 I used to pay...

I don't miss the Howling Diablos, though Yeah but knock $180 off the cost of the tickets for a playoff game and viola you will definitely see a couple thousand fans show up easily. There is a huge differance between paying $190 a ticket versus $10 a ticket. You still get the option to buy pizza and hang out with fans.. many of which are just as passionate but don't have the disposable income to toss out to a "real" game. GoalieManPat 1,007 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 Nobody show up for the actual games so they prolly dont think anyone will show up for JoeVis
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 (edited) Give us the option of a $10 ticket to watch the game and we wil all be pleasantly surprised. I mean if the $10 is still a sticking point, I shouldn't be having as much trouble getting a table tonight at HTC as those people are paying just as much to get in there. "if you LOWER IT, they WILL COME!" or in this case... "if you OFFER IT and LOWER IT, they WILL COME" Edited May 22, 2007 by OsGOD
Kcjacoby 10 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 Nobody show up for the actual games so they prolly dont think anyone will show up for JoeVis So are you trying to say that you're willing to shell out over $200 for a ticket? We can't sell out tickets because the prices are so f'ing outrageous. All the TRUE Red Wing fans are being held back because corporate america / Detroit is getting their hands on the tickets because they are the only ones able to afford such a price. If it came to a $200 ticket compared to filling my gas tank 5 times? I'd rather fill my gas tank, and drive over to somewhere where there are devoted Wings fans to watch the game so that I can enjoy it that way... instead of giving my money to the man. Damnit, where can we write and complain about prices and tell them to bring back Joe Vision at the same time?!?!
wingsfan75 2 Report post Posted May 22, 2007 Just a feeling but i think if we make it to the SCF they will do something. They always show the opposing arenas full of fans during the SCF don't they? They may just as well show the HTC but who knows... THe SCF is something entirely different than the WCF.
