YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted May 24, 2007 I found this on Spectors hockey: Spector's Note: I'll admit anything's possible, and Canucks GM Dave Nonis has proven a capable trader, but this article by Gallagher is really little more than wishful thinking. The salary cap for next season has already been agreed upon between the league and the PA to be around $47.5 million, and the PA membership is likely more concerned about finding a replacement for the deposed Ted Saskin than in trying to push the cap upwards to $51 million for the upcoming season. I knew the number was projected to be around 47-51M, but I didnt know it had already been decided.

toby91_ca 620 Report post Posted May 24, 2007 I thought it was going to be between $47-48 million, so $47.5 makes sense.

Flip-check 6 Report post Posted May 24, 2007 Bummer. I was hoping for $80 million. We'll still be able to sign those fifteen free agents and ten NBA stars who want to play in the NHL. Numbers mean nothing!
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted May 24, 2007 Bummer. I was hoping for $80 million. Heh, it's a progress. Hopefully by next season it'll hit 80 million. I miss the days when teams like the Wings and Rags would go out and spend ridiculous amounts of money on free agents. It made the offseason all the much more exciting!
