Statts 4 Report post Posted July 2, 2007 (edited) Yeah...like last year. Oh wait... I visited LGB.com and seems like everybody is already all over Kariya’s nuts already. Seriously I hope he makes you guys better so we don’t completely run away with the Central division next season. Yeah like us making the playoffs every year since '90. And us going to the western conference finals. What round did the blues make it to? Oh wait... Its called not getting up for worthless opponents. All NHL teams do it here and there. Get what Im saying? Edited July 2, 2007 by Statts

Yeah it will be nice not to have to hear all those eastern conference fans talking s*** about the central. They must forget we play everyone in the west 4 times. Im really looking forward to some more competition. And I say bring it on.

Jack T Adams 1 Report post Posted July 2, 2007 Aint that the truth! As if Legace was the reason the Wings got knocked out in the first round. A lot of skaters didn't show up and they ran into a hot team. Bring it on. Kariya in a Bluenote......HELL YA!!!!!!!!!

Kariya in a Bluenote......HELL YA!!!!!!!!! Oh we will. Big s*** talker. Lets see the blues start to actually WIN a little before you blues fans start running your mouths. Atleast us Wings fans have the right to talk this way. Need I list the SEVERAL reasons why? Or should I save you the embarassment and just move on? It takes a hell of alot more than adding 2 good players to contend with the central division champs, the number one seed in the west, and the team that was 2 wins away from the Stanely Cup Finals. Bring it on? Oh we will. Thats what WE do. We bring it. Unlike certain teams I know....

Kariya in a Bluenote......HELL YA!!!!!!!!! No he was not. It’s a team game, and they lost as a team. However Legace was not able to make the big saves that are necessary to win in the playoffs. Good luck with Legace blues fans! Oh we will. Big s*** talker. Lets see the blues start to actually WIN a little before you blues fans start running your mouths. Good luck with Legace blues fans! Exactly. Legace just isnt a "big game" goaltender. But blues fans will find out all about that next season.

I wasn't even talking big s*** and you respond as if the Wings are God's gift to hockey. One of the great things about being at the draft was hanging out with tons of people who have a passion for hockey and respected people for that as opposed to disrespecting people b/c of their teams. Guest DetroitIan Report post Posted July 2, 2007 (edited) All I said was Bring it on. Big deal. But when you come onto a Red Wings board and say that. It can come off the wrong way. No hard feelings here though. And I actually wish Legace a ton of success. Just not against us. Edited July 2, 2007 by DetroitIan

akustyk 84 Report post Posted July 2, 2007 Blues will be in playoff picture next season and I'm actually expecting them to be competitive when it comes to April. Murray is a smart guy and they built some good core of youngsters. a miracle can happen and they actually may advance past second round in some 3-4 years not a great signing but a solid one. Kariya is an improvement over Tkachuk and I think will also do good to rise attendance figures. this guy has skills, right?
Opie 308 Report post Posted July 2, 2007 I have been a fan of Paul since he was a black bear, except the year he was an Avalanche. Having said that, he would have fit in with the wings nicely. A developed team with some young guys fighting for positions. A team of veterans that are on the cusp of winning a cup. Now, in St Louis, that is another story. He will be expected to be the main option, which he has never been really good at. In Anaheim he almost always had some one to defer to. He had one year where he led them to the SCF, (the coming back to life on the ice year), other than that he will float around looking to unleash that potent shot, not play a ton of d, and doesn't really help in the development of young players. He had to go there to be with his brother. Does anyone know which brother they signed?

Williams29fan 6 Report post Posted July 2, 2007 Let’s not forget they still have Legace in net, so even if they do make the playoffs, they won’t make it past the first round. It was Not Legace fault that the wings lost, they lost as a team. Not to mention that, that was his first time being a starting goalie to be in net. I am sure there was alot of pressure on him. Not very many goalie can take you to the cup on their first time in the playoffs between the pipes. If the wings gave him one more season to prove himself i am possitive we would have gone farther and he would have been able to make key save to win the game. ps... sorry if its hard to read i was rambling because i feel strongly against about this topic and I think manny has the skills to win the cup. Hes not getting any chance being down there with the blues. Who knows maybe... just maybe they will be better with Kariya and Manny back in between the pipes from Knee Surgery. akustyk 84 Report post Posted July 2, 2007 It was Not Legace fault that the wings lost, they lost as a team. yeah... because it was the team who let a softie when the tight game was at stake and it was all about goalie to not f* guys up front and let up a single goal who steals all momentum. sorry, being a big Legace fan, I'm gonna put some blame on him. not just him, but those stupid goals in waning moments did eventually cost us that series. we had fared badly because of uninspired play and lack of heart, but ultimately the Wings had a chance to beat Oilers. but it was Legace who dug the ultimate hole
