Markov considering the Pens

Although I'm absolutely positive the Pens aren't going to win the cup this year, I'm still not sure how I feel about Markov joining up with them...

Let them take on his overinflated asking price. It won't help their defense.

Markov would be an excellent fit for the Pens, and he's probably worth more to them than most teams as they are one of the few teams that doesn't have a quality defensive stopper and that's exactly what he is.

Markov will definitely help them even though the price would be 7 million. He would be nice stay-at-home partner for all-for-attack Gonchar.

That's a pretty good defensive core, which last year was clearly the weakness of the team. I already have them winning the East as it is, so Markov would be a big acquisition.

i do hope he returns to the wings at a reasonable price but id have to say that the Pens are one of a few teams that could overspend and still benefit from signing him.

The Rangers weakpoint is their defense, and they didn't address that at all in the offseason. As for Ottawa, they might be as good as last year, but I think that the Pens are ready to overtake them now.
