Zata fan 40 6 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 I agree for the most part although I think the AHL is exactly what he needs right now. A solid month of the more up tempo that is played there as opposed to the RSL will help him get up to speed. i want him to score half a zillion goals tonight for Grand rapids I'll let you know. I'm going to the game.

Andy Pred 48 337 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 The very fact that he has gone to GR is indication enough for me that he wants on the roster back at the Joe. Lets face it, the easy option was for him to use his opt out and be sat back in Russian right now! Like some have said, earning $1m tax free compared to $75k in GR is very much a no brainer to us. But the possable potential earnings that could be had in the NHL far out weight any the RSL can offer. I'm sure that Igor has had a long chat with his advisor and I would also suggest that Dats has had some input too. I really hope he blows away all the cobwebs and shows the Griffs fans what he can do, because I really see him being a good player for the Wings and maybe on Dats wing he could be game winner on a regular basis. Mule39 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 How do you get out of shape if you're not lazy? And I'd call his desire to go home and play in Russia if he's not given a spot on the NHL roster a good indication of a bad attitude. I don't get the sense that this guy cares about making the Red Wings better and winning the Stanley Cup. He just wants to star treatment without earning it and a big payday (certainly not in the AHL). So far, I've seen more reasons to be skeptical of this guy's future with us than reasons to like him. Boy are you wrong.
RedWings Gone Wild 6 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 Lazy???? out of shape??? Bad attitude??????? From everything i've read in the past few years the fact that this kid is even walking, let alone in a position to make a stanely cup contender, is increadibly impressive. I highly doubt after what he's been through that he's taking anything forgranted. But that's fine, put him in the AHL, he'll go to Russia this year, we'll lose our rights to him, and next year he'll be playing in the NHL for someone willing to give him the shot he needs. Then we'll be seeing "if only we had Grig" threads starting every season for the next decade.
Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 (edited) he'll probably be called up at the end of this month, and play with the wings Edited October 6, 2007 by Lidstromrules16
Lidstromrules16 7 Report post Posted October 6, 2007 Grand rapids radio guys interviewed Grigs, his agent was translating. They asked him if he would stay in grand rapids if he didnt crack the wings lineup by november, and I couldnt understand what he said, but the guy who gave the interview said he got the feeling money was not an issue for Grigs, and he understands that the NHL is a great opportunity for him, so he seems willing to stay in Grand Rapids longer than expected, if needed

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted October 7, 2007 If Grigorenko ever get's his s*** together, the guy could easily be a top 6 forward. He could automatically be a candidate for the Masterton Trophy also, because he would have came back from such a serious accident and be a dominant NHL player. Nonetheless, that hasn't happened yet, and may not at all. I don't see the point in letting him slide because of his accident, like some seem to be. If he's unmotivated and lazy, then he has no place on this team. Either he steps it up, or he's gone.
