Cruiser008 37 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 Living in the greater Toronto area (Mississauga to be exact) I don't get to see many Wings games, so I was pretty to psyched to see the Wings on TV for the first time this year today. However they've been underwhelming so far and with Sammy and Mule out they're essentially a 1-line team on offence (unless the youth find their work ethic or the old geezers find their youth). *sigh* I miss the days when we had guys like Lucky Luc on the 4th line. russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted October 15, 2007 With injuries to two regulars, I'm surprised Babcock is sticking with Datyuk/Zetterberg/Holmstrom. It sort of creates a scenario where you have one outstanding line, one pretty decent one and then two fairly mediocre ones. Though, the Downey/Ellis/Drake line had a couple spirited shifts. The only reason the Red Wings aren't losing is Chris Osgood. He's been really solid in his four periods so far this season. Hope he can keep it up. Downey seems like a total class act. He came across as a really nice, humble guy in his interview with John Keating. I hope he finds a spot on the team as much as the nice guy, but I'm not sure how likely that is. Anyway, a pretty tame period from both teams. Nothing really of note. Well if Grigs is willing to stay in GR than Downey's job may be safe especially with Grigs' stats so far through 3 games he has 0 points. Where as other first time North Americans like Ryno have 3 points through 3 games... And P.S. Hudles would score more if he had long hair again like on the from of the Grifs web page...
