Drake out with a fractured cheekbone

Sorry but at this point in his career Drake is useless with a cage on. There is no question at all that Aaron Downey should be played over a caged Drake, so hopefully this buys Aaron some more playing time here.

This is something that even the anti- Downey guys have to agree with..

I completely agree with you Lou. Drake is fairly invisible on the ice. Ive seen better hits laid on by Datsyuk and Maltby than I have by Drake. Hes masked his completely unremarkable play by throwing down. If hes got the cage on, hes basically Kopecky v 2.0. Weve got enough one dimensional and/or useless players in the lineup as it is. Might as well play Downey who seems to know where to pick his spots.

Exactly YG, im glad someone agreed with me. If not for the fights, you wouldnt even know he's on the team. Right now, the only use he has (which is valuable one of course imo), is bringing toughness to the lineup. Having an injured cheekbone with a cage on completely takes that aspect away...so you're left with JUST as you said, basically another Kopecky. I also agree that Drake doesnt seem to be doing much in the way of good hits so far, and you of course have to expect that with a broke cheekbone and cage thats not going to start up any time soon. So yeah...his regular playing days should be done until he's 100% healthy. Maybe the odd game here and there, but thats it.
