I know it is early in the season but wasn't it me that got bashed in a thread for saying that they were not the cup favorite. Mind you I didn't say they would suck or that they would miss the playoffs, just that they weren't the odds on favorite because they lost almost all of their scoring when they let two players (selanne may come back) go.

Everyone told me I had no clue and that there D would be incredible even without Neids.

Amazing how many people on here now think they suck. Amazing how people on here change their opinions more often than I change my socks.

In case you forgot what side of the fence you were on before the season started here is a little reminder:

To jump back in the conversation a little bit, Giguere is always a little below average in the regular season. Then, inexplicably, he becomes a brick wall in the playoffs.

Because defenses tighten up and block more shots. Giggy is the same guy in the regular season as he is in the playoffs. He just sees less quality shots in the playoffs and a lot of the rebounds are cleared because his dmen and forwards backcheck and play far more aggressively.

Giggy is the most overrated goalie I've ever seen. At least he admits that he has no athletic prowess. I just wish the players and commentators would get on him more for the laughable gear he puts on. The dude has shoulders like a 12 year old girl and yet he looks like King Kong on the ice.

Good freaking grief, you guys are obsessed. I've also been to many games at Ponda and Staples, and I've never heard anything like that. Yes, Ducks fans are still learning (some of them), but jeez, give it a rest.

You guys are still bitter about last year, and guess what? So am I! I was there at Game 6! But this constant irrational Duck-bashing (especially when, as Third Man said, we can't fill our own arena right now) is becoming ridiculous.

And don't write off the Ducks yet this year, either. It's the traditional Stanley Cup hangover, but I expect them to be right in the hunt come April. Unfortunately.

I think they're done. USAToday ran an article a couple of seasons ago showing that for the past 20 years 95% of the teams that were in the playoff picture as of November 1st stayed there.

The Ducks won the Cup last year by rolling 3 amazing lines and 4 amazing defensemen. Then they lost arguably their best scorer, a top 6 winger (Penner) and their best dman and replaced them with 2 broken pieces.

Making Huskins and Shannon Miller play more is not going to help this team. Especially when Giggy's pads can't stop a beachball right now.

Ducks will be golfing early. Just like in '04.

I really haven't read responses in this thread in great detail, but I already know how I think this thread is going: portraying Duck fans as fricken retards, thus giving us the perception of being above others. The fans that watch on TV or go to the games, they like them. They are trying to understand. Hockey isn’t the easiest sport to pick up on and understand all the rules. I know I’m no genius when it comes to the sport.

Get over your obsessions with the Ducks. It’s not healthy. It's over, they won, they beat us and won the Cup. Move on. There’s more to life than obsessing over the Ducks, the Red Wings and hockey.

If you can’t do that, then at the very least don't rub the faces of others in the dirt who might not be as educated on the sport regardless of what they they like, just because you are a fan of a team who has a more storied history or live in a market/city that might have more hockey acumen.

Don't act like snobs and elitists giving Red Wings fans a bad rep overall.

thats california for ya...i really dont think a nonhockey state should have more than 1 team

Hey I'm from California. Sure I'm a Wings fan, but I've been with them my whole life. Anyway there are some good smart duck fans just not many, anr the bad fans are so bad that they ruin the name for the good ones.
