Can somebody please explain that to me? Those are the five Big Ten schools with Division I varsity hockey programs.
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted November 24, 2007 Those aren't Big Ten schools in ice hockey though. I'm glad the network is showing their games. I just wonder legally how the network is able to do so.
redwings1914 18 Report post Posted November 24, 2007 Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State are in the CCHA while Wisconsin and Minnesota are in the WCHA.....I believe the BTN is allowed to show the games because there is no Big Ten hockey league and they are obligated to air X amount of hours of each collegiate sport. The fact that they are member institutions of the Big Ten gives the BTN the right to show those games. Although that's even kind of moot - if the SEC felt like giving the BTN the right to show some SEC football games, they could do that too. It's all about what the member schools allow. And the Big Ten member schools will certainly have no problem allowing the BTN to show their hockey games.

schulzte 18 Report post Posted November 27, 2007 I wish Penn State would add hockey, I think that would be a really good school to have in the CCHA.
