CopenhagenWing 38 Report post Posted December 13, 2007 What's that... 20 years worth of contracts signed in the last 3 years? Most parents (I hope) are trying to teach their children about honour, integrity and keeping your word. Guess Petrino's parents didn't.
Guest jaytan Report post Posted December 14, 2007 I don't really see why everyone's so pissed off at the guy. He's taking a pay cut and getting the hell out of one of the worst situations in pro sports. That team is terrible and they never respected him, for one, and he lost the star he came there to coach. The guy knew he had to act quickly to not only get a college job (which is obviously where he is comfortable) but to get one of the good ones. What would be any different for the Falcons if he'd waited around until the off-season? At least now they know he wasn't their guy and they have an additional month to replace him. Also, it serves as yet another warning to these NFL organizations to be wary when courting a college coach. McFadden will. He will go to New England. Why would they draft him when they've got Maroney?
