Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted December 14, 2007 He can have his bad nights, but once the playoffs get started, he's dominant. Rafalski tries to be gritty, but when your 5'10 you cant exactly hit and grind with some of the big boys in the NHL.

ALSO SORRY ABOUT THE GRITTY TERM thanks for not reaming me though, im new to these analyzations
Icer 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2007 what other defencemen could we acquire/will be availiable before the end of the season? what do you think holland is looking for? The last thing the Red Wings need is another defensemen. Holland is looking for a power forward to balance out scoring on the second line.
Opie 308 Report post Posted December 14, 2007 Rafalski has never been labeled a defensive defenseman, he is very reliable and responsible in the Defensive zone, but he is known more for his offensive zone presence. However, having said that I really can't complain about how he is playing. Mainly because I only see him on Nat'l TV. But remember he is trying to come to a new team, new linemate (s), new system, and we will always compare any wing d-man to the d-man (lids), and there is no way Ralfy was going to live up to that. Having said that, he is better than Schneider in his own end and is not that far behind him in the O-zone. I like this signing and if the wings can ink Z long term they will have Z-D and Ralfy for long term which is a good core to build around, and hopfully Lids will be around for 3 or so more years, then there is the ageless wonder Cheli, Draper, and Malts. I just laughed after seeing your avatar. Just curious: what game was that? I'm going to guess the 3rd home game against Calgary, since that had the smallest crowd to my knowledge, but I'm not sure.
