TheWestWing 71 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 Sakic out The Colorado Avalanche will have to do without Joe Sakic for up to three-months as they learned that their Captain will undergo hernia surgery. I always have appreciated the play and sportsmanship of Joe - and appreciated is the appropriate word here. He always reminds me of Stevie as just being a class act on and off the ice (and also now the longest active "C" if my memory is correct). But is this something a 38YO can come back from? This year? They're playing lil over .600 w/o him.
lfd250 1 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 I think so, I had the surgery two weeks ago. Although it sucks, there's not a lot of pain with it and after two weeks he should be able to work out lightly and get back in time for the playoff run. It's not a back and it's not a knee, so yea, I think so.
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 (edited) I guess he does look like Harry Connick. Here's a link. Oh and to answer the question I think he can come back, but it will be tough for him. Doesn't seem to matter to the Avs though, they have been playing pretty well without him. If he doesn't come back, they will miss him most in the playoffs, if they make it. shannyfan1414 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 Well i think that he could come back this year. I don't think that he will be able to play at the level that is custom to playing at. He seems to be a very dedicated athlete who will work his tail off to get back out there. I hate the avs but i must say that he is a good man and i hope that he can come back. If not this year then hopefully next season.

up2here 41 Report post Posted December 28, 2007 Im not sure how many years Super Joe has left but as long as he wants to play this injury wont be a problem for him.
