thedisappearer 291 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Seriously, if you really watched Red Wings hockey, you'd know that Lidstroms shooting percentage is always skewed because more than half the time he takes a shot, its intentionally wide to make the bounce of the boards play, yet statisticians usually count it as a shot taken. Um, no. If it goes wide it is NOT a shot. The definition of "shot on goal" is pretty clear in this area. And even if this is the case... you did nothing to refute the rest of of my post. Which is kinda irrelavant unless you keep complaining we need a #2 D-man...
Skiing - Puck 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 The players that I saw in those articles that I would like are John-Michael Liles, Aaron Ward, and eather Sean Avery or Jarkko Ruutu.
Grittzkey 1 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 Foote. Oprik. Ward. I would really like a physical force on our blue line, Lilja and Kronwall have been laying some hits. But we dont have a player who can take control of the game with his body on our D. I see us sitting still trade wise though.

Very true instead the wings have a bunch of guys that take control of the game with the puck on their stick and are very gifted at taking the puck away with their sticks. I would love to see a Scott Stevens type of guy on this team but I don't see that happening. Getting a hitter to get a hitter at this point in time in the season is like getting a Heavyweight fighter at this point in time in the season. The wings will probably be looking to add depth to the D and Forward positions, and I agree it would be nice if one of the two if not both could bang, but I am not sure that should be the first characteristic of his game they should look at. therock48880 14 Report post Posted January 4, 2008 I'm suprised to read that someone said Rafalski hasn't been impressive. I think he's been awesome so far (after a slow start). Mlive had a poll a couple weeks ago about the most underrated Wing so far this season and I voted for him. He finished in second to Osgood. He's been very steady defensively, sound with the puck, great first pass, and shoots perfect shots on goal that can be deflected. Can't ask for much more, imo. It seems like we expect every new defenseman that becomes a Wing to be as good as Lidstrom. And before him we had Vladdie. I can't see how anyone could be disappointed in Rafalski unless they were expecting him to be someone that he isn't (Lidstrom for example). This is all coming from a person that blasted the Wings when they signed Rafalski because I thought they overpaid for him. I was wrong.
