Blood On The Ice 15 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 Anyone know of the ticket situation if you show up before the game? Are scalper's prices at or below face value for weeknight games? Thanks for any help! Depends on the game you are referring to. Heck anymore you get get tickets off the web sight the morning of the game and print them out at home or just go to the box office. Not to many games have been sold out this year, that you would have to go to a scalper. But if you must buy from a scalper, the later the cheaper. I have scalped in years past, paid anywhere from 10 to 25 over cost. And the 10, was a playoff game.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted January 25, 2008 (edited) Careful now... attendance talk is... Hehe, the Wings never sellout anymore. You could buy tickets 5 minutes before the game starts if you want to. Too bad this all seems to be hidden away under a black curtain in Mike Illitch's eyes, otherwise we'd see changes by now (IE lower ticket prices, fan givaways, autograph signings). But... whatever. This organization works like an old man: very set in it's ways, and does not adapt to change. Edited January 25, 2008 by Kp-Wings

Actually, believe it or not, the guy (forgot his name) that the wings hired from Nashville to promote ticket sales has said just that. He was interviewed just this week and he as a bunch for promotion days and group ticket sales scheduled for the second half.

Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 Is there a way to post the list or picture of the list? Heres to hoping one of the "giveaways" is lower ticket prices... pipe dream i know! Get real. Lower ticket prices in Detroit? Have you ever heard of such a thing? Man, I can't wait until the playoffs roll around to see how bad of a disaster the attendance is again. Then the media will point out Wings fans as being losers who don't want to support their team, instead of pointing out the real problem, which is Illitch and his 200% price markups on playoff tickets. The Wings are truely a lameduck organization when it comes to fan support. All that winning from the glory years has turned the whole group into a bunch of moles with their heads buried in the dirt. Considering the amount of times that Loanshark himself has mentioned the economy problems, yet still refuses to drop ticket prices to reasonable levels (don't mention the $9 seats either, because you could get a better view in the parking lot than in those seats) is so irritating and stupid. Hehe, oh well. I don't attend games anymore, and I have my reasons. Maybe if Illitch and the rest of the old boy's club upstairs would get it together for once, you might see me (and many other disgruntled fans for that matter) start going to games again. amberlynn25 9 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 Get real. Lower ticket prices in Detroit? Have you ever heard of such a thing? hey we could have prices like Toronto. 95$ for cheap seats.
Kp-Wings 3 Report post Posted January 26, 2008 (edited) hey we could have prices like Toronto. 95$ for cheap seats. Toronto doesn't have to worry about ever lowering their ticket prices. Their fans are too stupid to realize what a bad team they are. I'm still going to complain about the Wings ticket prices, until something is done about it. And really, you can't compare the Wings to the Leafs. Yes, the Leafs tickets are ten times more expensive, but keep in mind that the Leafs still sellout pretty much every game, and don't have major attendance issues like the Wings do.
