haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 He took a puck off the foot the wrong way. He walked right to the locker room. Ah. Apparently you and I are the only ones watching the game. The GDT is as dead as the Joe!
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Yawn. Another boring period, at least it sounded like it. When's the last time we actually played an exciting game? I vaguely remembed one before the All-Star break but it's been a while. Outshooting them big time, but nothing to show for it.

I vaguely remembed one before the All-Star break but it's been a while. Outshooting them big time, but nothing to show for it. I hear ya. I've thought the same thing several times this season, and started to worry that maybe I just didn't like hockey as much as I used to, because the games seemed boring. The puck possession style is extremely effective, but can make for some snoozers.

RedWingsFanatic 4 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Well, I thought that was a fairly exciting period. Lots of exciting scoring chances for the Wings. This, however, is the type of game that the Red Wings seem to lose more often than they win. They out-play and out-shoot a team viciously, yet the opposing team seems to score a couple fluky little goals and steal the victory. I sort of sense that happening tonight. Budaj played very well in that first period. Just a random little thought here, but it struck me in that period that Brett Lebda is quite underrated. When was the last time he made a terrible play? When was the last time he was severely out of position? I'm not campaigning him for the Norris, but he's speedy and spunky and fun to watch.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 I thought it was a pretty entertaining period. But I'm not one who likes goals (unless the wings are scoring them ) I like how we're going at Colorado all the time, and the physical play is there tonight. WingWarrior25 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Maybe it is just me, but i thought that this game has been fairly exciting. It is obvoiusly was not a high scoring period, but there have been lots of chances for the wings and some decent hits.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 It may just be something about the broadcast that makes it seem kinda dull too. They need to figure out how to mic games like HNIC. I know the Joe has a reputation for being quiet, but I don't think it's that quiet. I can hear people cheering. barely.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Well HS and Aussie......there's PK for the Wings. Maybe that'll make things a little more interesting for you.
haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Mickeyism: "If it looks like it, go ahead and paint it green." I have no idea what that means, but I may start using it.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 (edited) This is the loudest I've heard the Joe all season.... Woooo, Go Downey! There's just something about the audio that makes it sound so sterile. Like I said, I can hear some people cheering, faintly in the background. Maybe I just need a better stereo. haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Yeah, with Dats and Z on either side of you in the corner, you're probably not gonna come away with the puck.
NeverForgetMac25 483 Report post Posted February 2, 2008 Downey gets out, plays 5 seconds and looks to mix it up again. Seriously, he doesn't care who it is as long as there's a big "A" on the sweater.
