Redwingsfan18 1 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Too late for more then one reason. One, he's locked up in Russia. Two, its past the trade deadline. Plus we don't need him, I'd take Stuart over Markov.

chrisdetroit 189 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 Is it possible to sign Danny Markov? We still have cap space. Discuss. Yes it's too late on many counts. He is gone because he wanted so much money that all 30 GM's agreed that it was to much and not 1 single GM of the 30 would pay him what he wanted. And you want him back? FunkedUp 29 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 It would be cool if we could pick Markov up along with another 2nd liner over the summer. d-pairings (assuming we keep stuart) Lidstrom Rafalski Kronwall Markov Stuart Lilja Cheli*** I know I'm getting way ahead of myself here, but i can dream. Opie 308 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 To back up the Stuart>Markov post: Stuart easily got 3.5 to play, no one in the NHL, no one, would pay Markov the 4 he wanted. I will take Stuart, I saw a good amount of him in Boston after the nightmare trade. He is responsible in his own zone hits, not saying he is my dream for the 2nd pp over Sammy but I am pretty sure he played it in Boston. Nothing overly great about the guy offensively, but he is also a good defensive player and will add a little bit of a mean streak. I am surprised people don't seem happy about this, or is it just that they are so unhappy about the Hossa thing.
Rice 42 Report post Posted February 27, 2008 I'd love to add Markov, but he'd have to clear waivers if the Wings were to sign him.
