cirov19 1 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 I have always loved Raffi, even when he was on the Devils, but this game just made me respect him that much more. When his 'fight' began I was actaully kind of nervous, like "what's he doing.." but he completely proved me wrong when he took him down. Not to mention his goal was the best goal the Wings have scored since the beginning of February. Unbelievable.
Opie 308 Report post Posted March 6, 2008 Zetterberg deserves some sort of extra assist on that play. Legace was looking at Z waiting for Ralf to pass. Then bang puck in the back of the net and Legace has no clue!!

Then bang puck in the back of the net and Legace has no clue!! And Downie dropped the puck in the zone for Raffy then went off for a line change.. Downie made a joke and said it was one heck of a play on his part
Blaayze 25 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 (edited) Yeah, I jumped off the couch when I saw raffi pull something you normally see in the WWE. All he did was keep the guy close, to pick his spot. Did he ever. Also, during the fight you could see he was planning that takedown. His hand was lookin for something to grip on Stempniak's pants. Great body slam. LidsFan 68 Report post Posted March 7, 2008 I was so excited to have Rafalski back. He played great. He is becoming one of my favorite players. The other Red Wings need to follow his example and stand up to the other teams players. Downey is great but the rest of the team needs to send the message that they will not be pushed around. Opie 308 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 So I was reading through TSN and decided to go to their Red Wings Preds series page. I am not sure if this has been mentioned before but I did not know this little fact in bold. What They Bring To The Table: The Red Wings were once again the class of the Western Conference, sporting their third straight 50-plus win season. But there were some stretches where the team didn't look as good as advertised. They went through an awful stretch in February where they lost 10 of 11 games and had to cope with injuries to key players like Nicklas Lidstrom, Tomas Holmstrom, Dan Cleary and Niklas Kronwall. Nevertheless, the team still has a lethal one-two punch in Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg while defenceman Brian Rafalski set career highs in goals and points. Where depth is concerned, the team is well balanced with the reliable shutdown duo of Kris Draper and Kirk Maltby, along with forwards Jiri Hudler, Johan Franzen and Mikael Samuelsson. Defence is also a very strong suit, with Lidstrom, Kronwall and Rafalski joined by Brad Stuart and veteran Chris Chelios. Dominik Hasek's injuries, along with Chris Osgood's stellar season, have led to speculation about who will be the starting goaltender, but Mike Babcock has said all season that The Dominator is the man. Gordie Howe hat trick 110 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 This is why I think Rafi was a better pickup than re-signing Schneider. He has the great shot, can throw up the big hits, and is a good ole' Michigan boy.
Turkey 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2008 It's probably hard not to set personal records when you are coming from the New Jersey "We hate scoring goals" Devils.
