There is no correlation goals for and goals against to teams actually winning the cup. The cup does not go to the team with the best statistics, it goes to the team who wants it the most. 12Newf 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2008 its just supposed to be a joke. when someone says on-pace its funny no matter what such as when a player scores two goals in the first game of the year and you can say "Wow! He's on pace to score 164 goals this season!" on pace and arguably can be used for just about anything. For instance, "Mikael Samuelsson is arguably the best player on the detroit red wings and since the detroit red wings are the best team in the nhl samuelsson can be considered the best player in the league and as such the best player in the world."
