Doggy 130 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 Ottawa's pretty bad these days. But blowouts in the East are as common as days ending in 'y'.

MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 Sens to get bounced in the 1st round? The way they've played the last few months, they'll be out in 5 games.

seeinred 1,488 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 That was a great game, but the best part came from the announcers: -"I believe the medical terminology is nether regions" -"For you geography buffs, that's nowhere near the Netherlands" "For those of you not familiar with geography, I believe it's also called the twig and chuckleberries" Seriously, how often do you hear a hockey announcer say "twig and chuckleberries?" Guest CaliWingsNut Report post Posted March 25, 2008 Pretty bad on the Habs part on sitting back in the 3rd.. Final 7-5 Habs Ottawa has been killing in the 3rd, but the rest of their game sucks. I don't know if they are trying to play comeback style games, or they just aren't putting the effort in.

Doggy 130 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 They're a team that lacks chemistry in a big way. The Emery sideshow really de-railed them. It's interesting you say that. I agree that it has de-railed them but can't understand why. I mean, it really shouldn't. They're a professional hockey club (and a good one too). They just have no mental toughness and no character. I've completely written them off this season. The culture at that club needs to change.

I don't know if they are trying to play comeback style games, or they just aren't putting the effort in. That reminds me of the Wings a few seasons back. The 3rd period is when we started to play hockey then win games.
Opie 308 Report post Posted March 25, 2008 Lest we forget Emery is not the only soap opera they had to deal with this year, their coach was fired, Emery is a weird guy (OH wait he is a goalie that was like saying did you know blue is blue), injury bug hit them before the wings. This team has been the biggest avalanche of the season, they were once every so called "experts" pick when they were hot.

They were rolling along until Emery started pulling his various stunts. I think it divided them (some took Emery's side, some took Paddock's/Murray's) and they haven't really recovered. Puts a smile on my face to see them self-destruct again.

It's unfortunate that they didn't deal with the Emery-situation better than they did. And the only guy I feel sorry for on the Ottawa team is Alfy. Come back to Frölunda now - we need you!!
