Babcock Autographs at Cabela's March 29th

Didn't know if this was going to be of interest to anyone or if anyone knew, but I work at Cabela's down in Dundee and they kept announcing throughout the day today that Mike Babcock was going to be at Cabela's from 2:30 to 3:30 signing autographs tomorrow(Saturday th 29th). I find this a bit weird as not many people usually go for a coaches autograph, but maybe some players will be there too(they only said Babcock though). Just thought I'd pass that info along in case anyone wanted to go.

I have seen him up there before, early December I believe (it was the morning after a game they played on the west coast which I found odd), but I really have no idea why Cabela's. Whatever the reason, I'll be sure to get an autograph if I can sneak out for a little bit while I work.

And btw, Cabela's may look all nice and pretty when you go there for the first few times, but besides the animals everywhere, it is just like any other retail store to work for.

ya actualyl hes up there quite a bit. Hes a big gun guy who lieks to hunt his game. only reason i knwo this is one, i live liek 10 min utes from the place, and a close friends dad deals with him everytime he comes in. but hes there quite a bit round hunting season i heard. my friend has had her ad get him to sign stuff for her and shes gotten a nice hand written note from him saying he was there. but damn it i was sleeping during the autograph s***.. damn it

Yeah, he was only signing autographs for like 45mins to maybe at most an hour. I didn't have enough time to get an autograph but oh well, there was a lot of people waiting and he was talking to everyone and taking pictures and whatnot, so it's all good.

And about Cabela's being like any other retail store, I'm talking from a employees perspective, not a customers. It's a nice place to work, but you get used to the taxidermy and guns and all the stuff thats there. It becomes a store to you, not a 'destination' that it is for the customers. That being said, it's a job and probably a better part time job then most if you're into the outdoors stuff...and you get to see the Wings coach from time to time

I wish I saw this sooner, I would have found out what kind of gum he chows down on, all game, every game. Seriously he shoves more gum in his face then a bench full of little leaguers, I would have brought a case of it for him to sign

Are you kidding? I would take a ten hour flight to talk to Babs for five minutes.

 That was a major exaggeration to show my love/appreciation for Babcock

Although, I do recall during the intermission report on February 9 (when the Wings played Toronto) they did a thing about Mike's life growing up with his dad, and hunting... so I would assume he would go to places like Cabela's a lot.

Anyways. he's from Saskatchewan.. of course he hunts.
