Lunch box anger!

Rate this topic

Recommended Posts

For those who went to the game, did anyone get a lunch box who was not 16 and under. The previous game where they had the same rule on the giveaways, they passed them out to everyone once during the second intermission. Thus, how we got a Lidstrom poster.

I'm only 17... hmm... not too far from 16. I was denied a lunch box after I paid for tickets. A year off, come on! And as soon as my friend and I walked up, we got yelled at too. One lady said "Can't you read the sign? "Sixteen and under!" I never said I wasn't 16, but I couldn't prove it. I was a bit upset since there were SOOO many people who got them who were NOT the appropriate age. (One lady put a drink down walked over and got one. So she had to be at least 21 - right?) We even asked really nicely, "please" and everything.

So right before the 3rd period, we walked back to see if they would give them away like last time. Right when we got there, they just got done packing up with HUGE boxes filled with lunch boxes - there had to be at least six of them. What a waste! As we were leaving, I asked this middle-aged guy and who had one and he said he "sweet talked" his way to it. Err!!!!

This lead my friend and I to have to bargain with a group of younger kids. We ended up having to pay 15 dollars each for ONE lunch box. (We could have gotten two for 10 each but the third kid got someone to pay $30 for one - which then they changed their minds).

The whole reason I went to this game was to get a lunch box for my nephew. I had to pay so much for it. Plus we lost the game so I was a little bummed. Anyone else have a problem like this? The people who do the giveaways weren't that nice. In fact, I wasn't pleased at all!

Sorry for the complaining. I'm not having a good evening!

Well....it's a lunch box. :|

Oh my friend, it was more than a lunch box. It was a symbol of the hunger and passion of the game of hockey. The tin represented the obstacles one player must overcome in life. The handle represents how we, the fans, support the play. Together we carry our spirits, hopes and dreams, to playoffs and beyond. The clamp is a metaphor for the closeness, the bonds, and friendship among the players. The four side stands for the qualities team must possess; determination, dedication, unity, and uniforms. The the players show leadership. The fire is the common goal we all share in our hearts. Plus, you can carry sandwiches in it.

...My nephew hopefully will be happy. But I wished I could have gotten one for myself. My friend didn't get one either. Oh well... can't always get what you want.

At least you got to see McCarty redebut

Yea, you're right. It was cool. In fact, we banged on the "glass" and he turned... we waved... he smiled back.

That was pretty neat.

Hate to say it, but as you get older things get horrible. Lunch Box is the tip of the iceberg.

Yeah...

I wish they would give a lunch box just for the simple fact that life sucks and tickets are expensive. At least they give a good show, thus life temporarly doesn't suck. Good job Wings, a net gain!

Are you freakin serious dude?

A brown paper bag works just as good, if you want you could even draw some Red Wings logos and players numbers on it and what not to make yourself feel better; you can even throw it away so you don't have to carry it around everywhere. Quite frankly I think you are being a bit ridiculous about the matter. But whatever floats your boat or finds your lost remote I guess...

That sucks dude. But that is super weird, if they had the extra lunch boxes they should have given them to people that wanted them. Like, when I went to Ikea night the posters were one per fan--but in the third period they started handing them out to whoever wanted another one. Thats how it should have been.

If a lunch box can cause a crappy evening... Well. If I got there with my five year old and the gave away the last lunch box to a 17 year old I would be pissed...

The fact of the matter was there was at least 600 at one of the giveaway spots at the end of the night (six boxes, 100 in each I'll say). I understand that a five-year-old comes before me. Yea, completely. And if it came down to it where there were just enough for the little ones, I wouldn't have cared. I was just upset how a there were a TON of people who got them who weren't the correct age and there were so many left over.

I didn't buy one from a five-year-old either. Three 15-year-old boys were selling them at the game. They didn't want the boxes themselves, so I bought one. Just a lot more then I wished I did. I'm such a chump.
