Tom Glavine wants his name on a Stanley Cup

For those of you who are familiar with Tom Glavine, the hockey phenom, here' s a great Q&A article about him. The best part is that he picks Detroit as the winner this year. I thought this was interesting:

Glavine was selected in the fourth round of the 1984 NHL draft, taken off the board before Brett Hull and Luc Robitaille.

*nm* Cool story.

Maybe. I clicked it and it worked fine.

I have always liked Tom Glavine. I am always curious to have seen what kind of hockey player he would have turned out to be. It's hard to ponder a good career in hockey when comparing to his great baseball career.

It really sucks that he missed out playing on the same team as Gretzky. It sounds liek he would have been a pretty darn good hockey player had he gone the other route too.

cool article.

and not to be an ass, but are we STILL spelling GRETZKY wrong? come on folks.

greatest player of all time and we can't get his name right? if you can spell DATSYUK every time we write it on the boards, we should throw the same courtesy to wayne. love him or hate him...

Lemiuex.... i think i have it spelled right... don't I?

My fault, out of sight out of mind I guess. I fixed the mistake. Besides, I really disliked him when he was a player so I never paid much attention to the correct spelling of his name and he was never a Wing so that didn't help his cause.

gretzkey lemeiux and federov are my favorite players. but the future is definitely datzook and zatterburg.

At first I thought you were some idiot posting something completely irrelevant, but thankfully I read the thread.

Guest Mr. Byng

What I think people should take classes on is the correct spelling of Valtteri Filppula.

What about the proper use of Their and there, drives me phucking nuts, and it's something we should have mastered in grade school.

He wouldnt give up any of his awards for his name on the Cup, you ask me if anyone actually gave him that offer he'd balk at it.

I didnt think he'd pick the Wings, he threw us a curveball with this one...

If I didn't know better, I'd say you intentionally walked those puns...

Having spent most of my life in Georgia I can tell you this is NOT true. Not by ANY stretch.

I'm sure it was just a PR thing. He wouldn't want to bad talk Thrashers fans.

The part I thought wasn't true is that hockey is a hard sport to watch on TV. I've never been on my knees beating my hands on the floor cheering on the Tigers. I love the Tigers and played organized baseball so don't think I'm biased but that statement just isn't true.
