Guest Foiled_Up Report post Posted April 4, 2008 it looked bad at first glance i seen " man that was a big spill, he should be alright" then i noticed him gimping and i saw replay and i said "man that reminded me of Willis McGahee in the National Championship game" Im hoping its just a strain and its nothing major.. But it sure looked horrible.
umredwing11 2 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 This is so sad and unfortunate. He has really been coming into his own and I was looking forward to him playing in the playoffs. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this isn't serious, but I am a pessimist at heart and that hit didn't look minor.

hckypete96 3 Report post Posted April 4, 2008 bad break for the wings... why the hell can't we get healthy??? And why in the world is Detroit calling up college kids to play for us when we have McCarty as a healthy scratch?

Hopefully Kope is alright but it looks like a long shot. Injuries are a part of the game, if he doesn't make the playoffs lets hope someone can step up and play a role. Guest Crymson Report post Posted April 4, 2008 bad break for the wings... why the hell can't we get healthy??? And why in the world is Detroit calling up college kids to play for us when we have McCarty as a healthy scratch? Abdelkader played leagues better tonight than McCarty played in the last two nights. He hit, he forechecked, he almost scored. McCarty has done none of these things in the chances he's got. Just because he's McCarty doesn't mean that he's better than others or that he'll even get to play. He needs to win a spot, and others are making more of a case than he has. I really was pulling for D-mac to show flashes of what he once was, but for all intents and purposes, he was invisible in the chances he was given. It's a shame, but the facts are that Abby looked real good for his first game out there. Regs, Jeff

With this kid, you knew everytime he was out there, he made himself known. Can't wait for this guys future

McCarty played 2 games, March 28 against St. Louis and April 2 against Chicago. 20 shifts, 12:04 TOI, no points, 1 shot, 2 PIM.

Regs, Jeff I have to say I agree, I really was hoping DMAC would make an impact but he really hasn't earned a place, not even an attempt to fight...... Abdelkader came out looking great and makes you really wonder what he'll look like with proper training and more time. I say give DMAC and Abdelkader the CHI game and see who wins out.
