Frozen-Man 144 Report post Posted April 8, 2008 Since I don't live in the Detroit area and don't have the Center Ice package I was wondering what is the best way to watch the Wings begin their quest for the Cup online. I didn't know if there was some package to sign up for or website to subscribe to or what. This is the first year that I have not been able to get Center Ice and but I don't want to miss any part of the games. Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can offer. daniel1 32 Report post Posted April 8, 2008 For the other Canadians out there in LGW land; TSN just announced that they would be carrying the 1st game of the Wings/Preds series on Thursday and NBC has the 2nd one on Saturday. Here's hoping TSN picks up all the remaining games of our series as the Canadian version of Versus does not show hockey here in Canada and we are "prohibited" by law from obtaining a satellite dish capable of getting FSN Detroit due to God knows why lol. We can get Center Ice up here though and hopefully they'll cover some post-season play; I pay enough for the damn package, it's the least they can do! StayStevieStay 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2008 last year all the Red Wing playoff games were on regular cable TV in Ontario except for one game in the first round that I needed my center ice for. I just checked again and it looks like CBC and TSN are each carrying 3 Red Wings game from the first round this year so I won't be missing anything

Well, they 'prohibit' the utilization of 420 here in the Colonies, but that hasn't stopped some (so I've read on the internets )

Vilmer 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 I was in the same boat as you all year Frozen-Man. I found Sopcast and it's been absolutely fantastic It's also good to see TSN is carrying games 1-3, as I'd rather watch them in HD than on the PC.

Frozen-Man 144 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 Thanks to everyone for their help. It would have driven me crazy to not see the game and just have to listen to Thursday nights game on nhl.com
12Newf 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 sopcast is basically the best thing that has ever happened to me! remember though, when watching the streams you cannot be downloading (torrents for example, but limewire or other p2ps are bad too) or doing much else because each viewer uploads to other viewers. most red wings streams have several hundred people watching and it only takes a few downloaders to ruin it for everyone. just remember to be considerate and you will love sopcast. WizardOfOz30 1,886 Report post Posted April 10, 2008 Thank you 12Newf! I just got everything downloaded and everything works beautifully. Why did I not know about this during the regular season? Oh well, what matters is that I get to see the playoffs.
