TheWestWing 71 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 I specifically used the term redesigned as I really dont see much improvement. TSNs layout has changed a tad, tho I dont think the move to bigger mugs of McKenzie and Dragger are improvements NHL on the other hand looks like it may have been done by the same people that did the feds IRS 'upgrade' which was a loss of $72M or summin. 'Hey, who back there in the last row of cubicles knows Flash?.' 'Um, we have some video back there laying around next to the printers huh? Well, let's just throw it out there and they will come. Who cares if it just sux bandwidth and takes forever to load - everybody else is doing it - we're just late to the party as always.' And I have a 10Mbs pipe and it still sux! russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 nhl.com looks the same to me as of 8 am today, and tsn's new outlook sucks, its not as user friendly.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 Yeah, NHL.com's doesn't look all that different. Just some new columns for the playoffs. TSN's scared the hell out of me. Not sure if I like it or not.
zaxx 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 My initial reaction to the tsn redesign is "I hate this ugly piece of garbage!" However that may be the old complainer inside me who hates change. However I do find the new TSN site difficult to determine where data is located. This one I think is a legitamate complaint. The old format used three background colors to differentiate between sections: Red, Black, & White. The new one only has Black & White. Now I find myself having to search for the information I want for a little longer since it is hard to differentiate between where one section ends and another begins. But I am sure I will get used to it.. They do have to change their favicon though, it is still the red TSN one and now that the site is devoid of red it is a crime that they have left it... lol
akustyk 84 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 new TSN has a lot of space to deploy panels with news, articles or just links. it doesn't occupy much more screen but has gotten a lot of room. their graphical design is pretty boring and lacks some push. the old version was a little bit more sophisticated and much more visually appealing. although, I believe they'll be going towards reorganization of information and will soon fill new canvas with a lot of handy information. this should be only better as for NHL... it's not a bad website but is a little bit too clumsy to navigate and there's just too much information packed on front page. it's not necessarily useful but occupies a lot of space. the visual appeal however is bigger than new TSN to me
Cicada 4 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 the new NHL.com doesn't come till next season... they've just updated nhl.tv for these playoffs... http://nhl.tv looks cool though
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 They both look good to me. So far I'm not having any trouble with the videos on NHL.tv either.
