zaxx 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 Just sitting at work wasting the day away and trying to find a good sports radio station, meaning I want something with analysis, talk, interviews, etc. I found 97.1 The Ticket out of Detroit: http://www.wxyt.com/ and it seems decent but I only care about hockey. (Right now) What do you guys recommend?

Cicada 4 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 (edited) 97.1 "The Ticket" is utterly pointless if you want to hear about hockey... if the wings make the finals and it's game 7 against the habs, they might get 5 minutes... i can guarantee that everything today will be how much the tigers suck. 1130 'the fan' is generally better for hockey 'sometimes', but you can only listen to that online if you're from the US (which sucks for me) Edited April 9, 2008 by Cicada

I like Team 990 out of Montreal. team990.com The mornings are good, the afternoons suck. PJ Stock's show is very good.

After the games they always have live from the Olympia bar, they interview Scotty all the time. Maybe we just listen to it at different times.

Well for this morning they are not doing so well for me... they have only discussed football, baseball and 95% of the time this morning has been about some new law for new drivers... lol
auxlepli 17 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 Since 97.1 broadcasts games it usually has stuff around game time. I've logged in before and they were still chatting about something AFTER the game started. http://fans.nhl.com/members/auxlepli/blogs/4024 They do have post-game shows. That's about it though. I've listened in the morning and it's blah blah blah, laugh, laugh, laugh. They usually talk about transgendered people or the latest reality show craze. Nothing about sports and certainly nothing about hockey, nor the Wings.
WhiteLightning91 105 Report post Posted April 9, 2008 Fan 590 and AM640 Toronto are always pretty good. Although, if you hate hearing about the Leaf's -- beware.

I listen to the Fan590 a lot between 4-7, or used to. I find they cover a wide range of topics and don't provide too much of a focus on the Leafs, not more than would be expected anyway. I don't listen to 640 a lot, but I would guess that they spend more time talking about the Leafs.
