tubaguy 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 I went to 3 regular season games and last night's game. The first game I went to was in early October and the Joe was dead. (the only good thing was the concession stand lines were short and the bathroom lines weren't too bad) The second game was in January and the arena was a bit more filled. The third game was the last game of the season. It was a Sunday afternoon game, which tends to do pretty well because the kiddies can come. It being a meaningless game for the standings, the Joe was pretty packed, though obviously not sold out. Last night was a different story. There was no room to move in the concourse. The men's room line was longer than I had ever seen. I couldn't remember a crowd like last night since the 2002 playoffs. Obviously, there were some empty seats, but it didn't sound like it. Though, there were stretches in the 2nd period when you could hear a pin drop.

I blame the refs for the 2nd period low because any time anybody came together to fight they would break it up... bulls***!!!! thats the funny thing too... non-sellouts in the Playoffs are still a lot louder than sell-outs in the regular season... Seeing all the crowd wave their towels... that was so sweet looking.

Hockeytown Red Wings 245 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 You could tell this was a better JLA crowd during the third period last night. It really showed on Tv....hope the Wings get some of the energy from the city that they were getting back in the 90s.
McCartyFanForLife 17 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 I just checked ticketmaster for Game 2 and you can't get 2 seats next to eachother in the upper or lower bowl. There are some single seats left, but I think this is a good sign
