Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 This is what you get when you don't finish on your 1,000 chances to score. C'mon, Wings, play your game in the 4rd!
Guest LivingtheDream Report post Posted April 11, 2008 Typical playoff wings that I'm sure Babs will be adjusting for in the third. We totally dominate, but don't score. This WILL change. Just getting our playoff legs.
YoungGuns1340 1 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 You're not alone. I wasn't feeling all that great about a 1-0 lead. This is reminding me so much of Red Wings games of yore. Hell, Game 5 against Anaheim anyone? 1-0 lead for half the game? Go on to lose it? This always seems to be the story with the Wings when they stick to a 1-0 lead for long periods of time. They get scored on and then the other team has all the energy and goes on to win it.
DyingAlive 27 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 Need to keep getting chances on net. We'll crack Ellis again with that.

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 I know I am being over-critical, but this game is nothing to be proud of. Lots of chances and almosts and maybe. There is a change that they will almost win, and maybe they will be upset about it? There is no excuse for firing puck after puck at Ellis and only capitalizing on one shot. Goaltending will not be the deciding factor in this playoffs. Lack of offense will be. At least get the "two goal limit" tonight Wings. It will be all you need, if you can manage it. evil204 4 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 The Red Wings were a lot more physical and skated with a lot more energy in the first round last year.. That's how they need to play. Right now, they still look like they're in regular season mode.

Notice he is the one who turned over the puck to Selanne in OT for the game winner. Coincidence? I dont think so
esteef 2,679 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 See! If Downey was playing he would've already beat up Tootoo and it would still be 1-0!!!!! Toots would be gettin' his labia taped up in the locker room!!! Kick his ass MAC!!!!!!!!!!
Hank 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 (edited) Nothing quite like getting stonewalled by another no-name goalie. There is no way this game should be tied. I think it's time we stop saying its just another no-nam goalie stonewalling us. It's our style of play that makes life easy on goaltenders and gives them confidence. First, will someone, ANYONE, HIT THE F**KING NET!?!??!?! If it's not in Ellis's bloated belly pad it's 10 feet freakin wide!!!!! Secondly, a lot of our shots are from horrible, far away angles. We need to make life miserable for Ellis. But in the past, we've barely done that. Meanwhile, this 'no-name' goalies confidence rises and rises while the Wings confidence spirals downward. I still have confidence we'll win this game but the Wings need to play like they did last year. So far, I'm not seeing any of that. There's barely any emotion out there. Unlike last year where Calgary forced us to wake up, Nashville is letting this team fall asleep and suddenly it'll be 2-1 for Nashville and we'll be down 1-0 in the series. Wake up Wings and start throwing your body around! Edited April 11, 2008 by Hank

Just getting our playoff legs. Actually this is nothing like Game 1 against Calgary last year. We came out and put that team on their heels. All we've done tonight is give Ellis a s***ton of confidence. Where have I seen this before. This isnt the same team that made Mikka Kiprusoff look like a little boy in juniors... dallas27 7 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 Okay, time to really pull it out. All this offense has to produce. I don't blame Dom on that one. He could have kept his stick where it should be and that goal never happens. Wings just have to keep getting scoring chances. Too good not to put another one in the net. Nope, no you're not being over critical. They dont look awful, but they don't look great either. The thing I'm pissed about though is that the Wings were trapping. Not really their style at this point in the game, so I just don't get it. And I don't know if it's been mentioned or not, but is anyone else having issues with FSNHD? It's kinda choppy and stuff here.

savaking72 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2008 This goalie is only hot till we score on him again. Their goal was a fluke. A redirect from Tootoo of all people. The Predators aren't in this game...only their goalie is, and that is why we are going to win this game. We are buzzing all over the place.
