The only reason why Hasek started the playoffs is because his past performance, and some think that his name would intimidate the preds. think about it, if hasek plays a great game it gets in the preds head like "oh s*** We awoke the beast, hasek is gonna shut us out", whereas if Osgood played equally as well the preds would be more likely to shrug it off to a lucky game "because its just chris osgood". Dom is a world-class goalie and that is his style, and that is how he has been a world-class goalie in his career... He is lacking confidence right now, and that is what gets to a goalie the most. I know when I'm in net for my team (granted I'm not remotely professional) the thing that can phase me the most is when I don't have any confidence left in myself, and that is where I think DOm is...it doesn't make him less talented, he is just in a rut.... And I am very glad we have Ozzie here to keep the playoffs rolling while Dom is in that rut. If Dom has played his last game as a Wing, I say thank you for some great years Dom, and lets hope Ozzie lets him lift the cup once more...plus Ozzie could have a bad game, the LGW board will turn on him...and Babcock could go with Dom again to please the LGWers... Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted April 19, 2008 Osgood looked really solid when called upon, and the only goal they scored was not his fault - I can't see many goaltenders in the league saving that shot. In addition, the team played really well in front of him and I think thats what Babcock was looking for; not only Osgoods performance, but the teams response and performance to him in net. The Wings played a great game last night - had some issues finishing but still dominated most of the game. Osgood should start as long as the Wings are still winning.
